Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Advisory Board, we would like to inform you of the:
AGING AND SOCIETY: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE University of California Berkeley, CA, USA 7-9 November 2011 http://Aging-Conference.com
This conference provides an international forum for the discussion of a rapidly growing segment of the population, in developed countries as well as in developing countries. Contributions range from broad theoretical and global policy explorations, to detailed studies of the specific human-physiological, health, economic and social dynamics of aging in today''''s global society.
In contrast to conferences with a specialist disciplinary focus, the conference will range across big picture questions of public policy to the fine detail of research and practice-based discussion. This is a time when we are in need of more research knowledge and public awareness of the growing aged portion of the global population and its social impacts.
We welcome presentation proposals which range from theoretical, methodological and policy questions, to proposals which present finely grained evidence of the connections of economics, public health, government and community practices, sociological, medical and educational perspectives of aging and our societies. Participants at the conference will include researchers, teachers, administrators, policy makers and practitioners whose interests range across psychology, neuroscience, economics, sociology, anthropology, demography, nursing, biology, medicine, public health, epidemiology, gerontology, pharmacology, dentistry, health behavior and health education, ''''third age'''' education, management, marketing and communications. Aging and Society: An Interdisciplinary Conference is planned to be held annually at different locations around the globe.
We invite you to respond to the Conference Call-for-Papers. Presenters'''' written papers can be submitted for publication in the peer-reviewed, Aging and Society: An Interdisciplinary Journal. If you are unable to attend the conference in person, virtual registrations are also available, which allow you to submit a paper for possible publication in the Journal. We also invite you to subscribe to our monthly email newsletter, and to our Facebook, RSS or Twitter feeds at http://AgingAndSociety.com/news
The next deadline in the call for papers (a title and short abstract) is 11 January 2011. Future deadlines will be announced on the conference website, after this date. Papers and proposals will be reviewed within two weeks of submission. For full details of the conference, including an online proposal submission form, please visit the website http://Aging-Conference.com .
We look forward to receiving your proposal and hope you will be able to join us in Berkeley, California, USA in November 2011.
Yours Sincerely,
John D. McMillen, Ph.D., J.D. College of Health and Human Services Department of Kinesiology California State University, Fresno, CA, USA
