哈佛大學人類學研究所副教授馮文（Vanessa Fong），應邀於15日晚間在拉斯維加斯大學（UNLV）演講，她的講題是「中國留學生海外求學移民之路」，以她從1999年開始的資料收集以及追蹤結果作說明，歡迎各界前往聽講。
馮文教授曾於1997年前往中國東北大連市開始研究中國一胎化政策下成長的孩子，他一共研究2273名中國1979年至1986年間出生的孩子，並追蹤這些研究對象至今的生活及工作和教育及觀點。
演講會時間是晚間7時30分，在Barrick Museum會堂，活動免費，聽眾可會中向馮教授提問。

亞特蘭大台灣同鄉會將於18日（星期六）下午6時30分，舉行中秋節慶祝活動，該會歡迎鄉親參加這項活動。
這次的活動將於3005 Center Place, Norcross, GA 30093舉行，台灣同鄉會今年以「台灣夜市」的方式，慶祝中秋節，在賞月地點設置「路邊攤」，推出各種美味台灣小吃。小吃將完全由同鄉親手製作小吃，讓鄉親們享用道地的台灣風味食物，包括蚵仔煎、肉丸、肉粽、雞捲、烘肉、炒米粉、潤餅、和筒仔米糕等。台灣同鄉會也準備了戶外納涼、賞月區，讓同鄉與新朋舊友切磋、閒談。台灣同鄉會還會準備各種遊戲，另有老少咸宜的戶外卡拉OK以及電影欣賞。

2010年大華府學生學人論壇訂於本月18日及19日連續兩天在僑教中心舉行, 留學生將有機會台灣與駐美官員及海外有成的各界領袖作面對面交流，兩天一夜的活動完全由主辦單位免費提供，自即日起接受報名，凡是來自台灣的留學生均可向主辦單位登記。
大華府學生學人論壇係針對來自台灣的留學生而設計的活動，活動內容涵蓋產、官、學三方面，邀請華府地區的成功華裔企業家、知名華裔學者與代表處駐外官員，為留學生們講述旅美生活經驗與專業學科外的實務分享，留學生們亦有機會與來自不同學校的同儕互相交流。
今年的活動將邀集台灣駐美副代表張大同以「台美外交之展望」為題作專題演講；另有文化組組長張欽盛與同學們就「留美生活的挑戰」作交流；科技組組長張新雄談「台灣科技業的現況與發展」；經濟組組長蔣士煌分析「FTA 與 ECFA 對台灣未來經濟的發展與影響」。此外，喬治梅森大學教授陳俊宏探討中美關係的變化，與對台美關係的影響；律師張先正則提供美國移民法最新資訊。

The 2010 Youth Entrepreneurship Service Program, organized by NECINA and IBM, is a dedicated FREE forum for high school and college students to enter the real world of business. From the 10-class program, students learn to work in startup teams, develop business ideas and participate in a business plan contest to positively change our planet. The program will cover Business Plans, Product Conceptualization, Company Structure, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Public Speaking and Presentation skills. Each class will feature a distinguished speaker and an exciting instructor to show students how skills learned can be applied in the real world. Winners will gain cash prizes and possible internship opportunities in sponsoring organizations.
ORGANIZERS
IBM's Smarter Planet Initiative underscores how forward-thinking leaders in business, government and civil society around the world are capturing the potential of smarter systems to achieve economic growth, near-term efficiency, sustainable development and societal progress. New England Chinese Information Networking Association (NECINA), a non-profit and non-political organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of professionals from network computing industries. Originally, it served the needs of professionals to advocate leading edge technologies and new business opportunities. Since, it has grown to become one of the best-run professional organizations in New England area covering diverse industries including software, telecom, networking, bio-informatics, venture capital, finance, and law.

• 亚利桑那州华人华侨声援全球保钓行动筹备委员会成立
今日亚省保钓行动筹备会在亚利桑那州立大学如期举行。来自中国大陆、台湾、香港、中国留美学生代表参加了筹备会议。
侨界代表认为钓鱼岛自古以来是中国领土的一部分。日本不断挑起事端使钓鱼岛事件陷入僵局。 现今，福建渔船被扣，14船员被押。虽然已释放13名船员， 船长仍然扣押。海外华人华侨对此事给予强烈关注。海外华侨的命运于祖国紧紧相联，台湾香港以及全球各地的华人华侨已经行动起来，进行了各种形式的声援活动。值得一提的是，就在这周六，旧金山、洛杉矶等地的华人华侨、中国留美学生们将在日本领事馆举行集会、游行，进行抗议活动。亚省的华人华侨及留学生也不甘人后，顺应历史潮流，为维护祖国领土主权不容侵犯，勇敢站出来，参与到活动的声援队伍中，充分体现了海内外炎黄子孙捍卫保钓行动的坚定意志和决心。
中国留美学生方面认为， 此时我们有“三个必须”。第一，必须让我们这一代人了解历史，深化认识， 提高对历史事件，当代国际局势的敏感度。第二，必须发出正义、果敢的声音，向日本政府抗议，维护国家和民族的利益。
第三，必须承担我们的历史使命，秣马厉兵，厚积薄发。在将来为祖国和民族的统一大业做出应有的贡献。
在此会议期间，侨学界达成以下几点共识：
1。成立声援全球保钓行动筹备委员会。欢迎个人团体的踊跃参加
2。发动一人一信活动，用具体行动来声援保钓行动
3。征求人才，追根溯源，让更多的人了解历史
4。结合当地主流媒体，表明中国领土的不可侵犯性和完整性。
5。定期举行讲座，让更多的海外华侨华人，留学生参与。
参会侨领纷纷表示：钓鱼岛自古就是中国固有的领土，日本政府无顾在中国的海域扣押中国鱼船、挑起事端，这是对中国主权的严重挑衅，在此呼吁海外华人共同为捍卫祖国的领土完整， 充分用自己的声音和力量声援全球各地的保钓行动。
