少数民族和宗教联合会/少数民族和宗教慈善基金会将于2010年5月16日在美国洛杉矶成立。
大会成立的当天“民宗联”将宣布:
1. 每年的五月十六日为“民族和宗教团结日”
2. 宣布“少数民族和宗教宣言”
3. 宣布“民宗联”每年5月16日将举办一次“世界中华少数民族和宗教联谊大会”。
“民宗联”的宗旨是:
弘扬民族和宗教文化, 促进民族和宗教大团结，团结海内外一切爱国力量，维护祖国统一，遵纪守法, 积极参与各种政治活动，代表少数民族和宗教公证、和平、理性言论。
