Many real systems can be modeled as networks, where the elements of the system are nodes and interactions between elements are edges. An even larger set of systems can be modeled using dynamical processes on networks, which are in turn affected by the dynamics. Networks thus represent the backbone of many complex systems, and their theoretical and computational analysis makes it possible to gain insights into numerous applications. Networks permeate almost every conceivable discipline---including sociology, transportation, economics and finance, biology, and myriad others---and the study of "network science" has thus become a crucial component of modern scientific education.
The school "Complex Networks: Theory, Methods, and Applications" offers a succinct education in network science. It is open to all aspiring scholars in any area of science or engineering who wish to study networks of any kind (whether theoretical or applied), and it is especially addressed to doctoral students and young postdoctoral scholars. The aim of the school is to deepen into both theoretical developments and applications in targeted fields.

既然川普从没伤害过你，你为什么如此恨他？
很多人恨川普，中国人 & 美国人，我想问你们一句：除了给你们带来笑声，川普曾经伤害过你吗？
川普从来没有实权，他只是个一个普通的商人，一个脱口秀嘉宾，他跟你没有见过面，也没有制定什么政策来管辖你，没有收过你的税，也没有贪过你的钱。他的节目和段子让你开心让你笑，那么，为什么竞选开始后，很多人开始恨他了？
大家恨川普骂川普，因为希拉里团队和主流媒体把他描述成一个种族主义者，一个不尊重女性的人，一个欺负穷人的富人，一个逃税的商人。于是你想象你或你的朋友家人是他不尊重的对象，你的税替他交，你的族性被他鄙视，但实际上，这些都是子虚乌有的事情。如果你还相信美国的主流媒体，那么你还要过几年才能有成熟的见解。
相反，希拉里是真正害我们的人。她被主流媒体包装成了一名成功的圣母，表面上是个慈母，在乎你的感受，在乎你的肤色，在乎你的工作和收入，在乎你家里的女人和小孩。但是，他跟沙特私下有勾当，收了沙特5600万美金，这个沙特是最不尊重女性的国家，他们的贵族从战地购买性奴，也是911事件的幕后支持者。希拉里制定AA法案让你的小孩进不了好的州立大学，她支持的Obamacare用你的钱给懒人买保险，她的厕所法案让你们的女儿和男人进一个洗手间。。。。但你还打算选她当总统，这需要多大的信任呢？
这次美国大选让我们看到美国这个国家的很多问题，也看到了人性的懦弱，邪恶，贪婪，冷漠，无正义感，但也看到了很多人勇敢地站出来，和希拉里代表的华尔街财团和国家机器抗争。在这个过程中，我们很多的朋友已经去世了，媒体说他们是正常死亡，但我们不得不保留我们的怀疑。除了阿桑奇的律师非正常死亡，维基解密创始人Gavin Macfadyen的近日突然死亡（有的媒体说是癌症），最近克林顿基金会的钱负责人Eric Braverman也感受到死亡危险，正式向俄罗斯申请政治避难。加上之前跟邮件门相关的Seth， Joe，Shawn， Victor都在大选过程中相继死亡，想想也真是可怕。
希拉里不是第一次从政，她的政治才能和路线我们其实大概都清楚，她坚持奥巴马里的厕所法案和开放的婚姻政策，就是奥巴马的加强版，继续用Obamacare来加重中产阶级的负担。她要求控枪，实际上是控我们守法民众的枪，黑市的枪她控不了，坏蛋的枪她也没法控制。她要求无理由地最大化接收叙利亚难民，其实能来美国的难民都是有点背景和经济基础的，没钱没背景顶多跑到土耳其，她并不能帮助真正需要帮助的人，也没有决心打击ISIS，不能从根本上解决难民的根源问题。
希拉里的贪污问题已经不是秘密，克林顿基金从全球各地吸金，甚至从她之前骂为腐败政府的摩洛哥收了1200万美金。她没有道德标准毫无底线，收钱办事，公报私囊。希拉里作为华尔街的代言人，继续保护索罗斯，巴菲特们的利益，而中产阶级则是她版图里的纳税大户和摇钱树，我们每天辛苦工作，交了各种杂税之后，所剩无几，积蓄还赶不上人家发展中国家的人们。
而川普，只是个有点理想的美国老头，他并没有伤害过我们一点点。他的出现是美国内部问题爆发的表征。这么多年来，美国政府告诉美国人民什么是政治正确，他们试图重新教导我们什么是“正确”的事情：
“你不能跟客人说Merry Christmas，而要说Happy New Year。”
“你不能说black，要说african american。”
“你不能说fat， 要说big。”
“你不能说pray，要说cross hands。”
“你不能说Jesus，只能说god。”。。。
还要教我们的小孩，男的可以和男的结婚，女的可以跟女的结婚。你不必须上男厕所，只要你觉得是女的就可以去女厕所。。。
我觉得很多美国人跟我一样都快疯了。我们说了几百年的话，为什么突然就不让说了？人类用了几千年的厕所规则，你奥巴马说改就改了？资本家赚那么多钱，却不要交很高的税，我们中产阶级一天工作10个小时，交了bill和税跟那些不上班在家睡大觉的没太大差别。。
所以，川普的出现是个必然。美国的历史车轮驶向何方，这次大选至关重要。川普没有伤害过我们，他只是代表我们去参加这次选举。他不是个完美的人，只是有点勇敢，有点正义，有点倔强。

「第12屆中美電影節」主辦方在柯斯塔梅沙市南海岸廣場公布今年參展的優秀影視作品，及部分出席的中美影視業嘉賓名單，屆時來自中國的電影業界領軍人物將齊聚洛杉磯，與美國電影同行共同交流、合作發展。「中美電影節」除頒發「金天使獎」外，還設有微電影、紀錄片、戲曲電影單元以及綜藝節目等評選。目前已有來自中美兩地近500部作品報名參加，其中一部分是目前正在或即將在中美兩地上映的電影，包括「湄公河行動」、「七月與安生」、「上海王」、「龍之誕生」、「大話西遊3」等，同時如「美人魚」、「夏洛特煩惱」等也紛紛報名角逐金天使獎。華語樂壇天后張靚穎將擔任「第12屆中美電影節」形象大使，屆時在頒獎典禮上獻唱。

代表台灣角逐2017年奧斯卡最佳外語片的「只要我長大」將在聖地牙哥亞洲電影節閃亮登場。喜愛台灣電影的觀眾有福了! 聖地牙哥年度規模最大的「亞洲電影節」（San Diego Asian FilmFestival），將於11月4日至6日在聖地牙哥加大（UCSD）舉辦「台灣電影櫥窗」（Taiwan Cinema Showcase），預計放映七場次十部台灣電影，其中還包括代表台灣角逐2017年奧斯卡最佳外語片的「只要我長大」（Hang In There, Kids），讓民眾一睹為快。「台灣電影櫥窗」是由聖地牙哥亞洲電影節、聖地牙哥加大台灣研究講座（UCSD Taiwan StudiesLecture Series）、川流台灣研究講座（UCSD Chuan LyuEndowed Chair in Taiwan Studies）所共同主辦，也是台灣電影在南加州重要展示平台。此外，還有台北電影節開幕片「菜鳥」（Maverick）、犯罪心理電影「失控謊言」（White Lies,Black Lies）、經典影片「風兒踢踏踩」（Cheerful Wind）、紀錄片「海的彼端」（After Spring, The Tamaki Family）和「日曜日式散步者」（Le Moulin），以及短片「禁止下錨」（Anchorage Prohibited）、「阿尼」（Arnie）、「銅板少年」（Coin Boy）、「一念」（Single Belief）等，皆可看出台灣的多元文化及語言面貌。
