The Ministry of Culture conferred the National Cultural Award to three cultural masters in recognition of their outstanding contributions — poet Yu Guangzhong, novelist Chi Pang-yuan, and the late architect Han Pao-teh.
TAIWANESE LACQUER ART IN SWEDEN
An exhibition on exquisite crafts co-created by Swedish designers and Taiwanese lacquerware artisans is now open at the Form Design Center in Malmoe, the third largest city in Sweden.

“Cultures of China, Festival of Spring” is an event organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council which sends classic Chinese performances to all over the world during Chinese New Year time period for the purpose to celebrate the most important festival of a year with overseas Chinese.
“文化中国•四海同春”演出始于2009年，在海外侨界和主流社会积聚了“人气”，赢得了知名度，是展示中国形象、讲好中国故事的知名文化品牌。本次赴美国的北美艺术团以北京京剧院为艺术班底，邀请了谭孝曾、王蓉蓉等多位国家一级演员加盟。此次演出节目包括《真假美猴王》、《霸王别姬》、《定军山》、《空城计》、《红娘》等京剧折子戏，及《群英会》选段“自起义兵把贼来讨”、《智取威虎山》选段“早也盼晚也盼”、《龙凤呈祥》选段“昔日梁鸿配孟光”、《沙家浜》“智斗”选段等京剧清唱节目。
