GOLDEN COMIC AWARDS WINNERS HONORED

TAIWANESE ARTISAN ACCLAIMED IN JAPAN

ICOM HEAD LAUDS TAINAN MUSEUM
Dr. Hans-Martin Hinz, chairman of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), led an eight-member delegation of the International Committee for Regional Museums (ICR) under the ICOM to visit the National Museum of Taiwan History.
TAIWAN-JAPAN JOINT ART SHOW IN TOKYO
“The Present and Future of Japanese and Taiwanese Contemporary Art,” which is scheduled to run from Nov. 4 to 16 at the Tokyo University of the Arts, features a total of seven Taiwanese and seven Japanese artists.
TAIWANESE PUPPETS TO WOO VANCOUVER
Taiwan's Taiyuan Puppet Theatre and Chin Fei Feng Marionette Theatre Troupe have been invited as the featured guests of the 2014 Ouxi Taiwanese Puppetry Festival organized by the University of British Columbia.
EMERALD INITIATIVE: OPEN CALL
Proposals will be accepted from Oct. 30 to Dec. 1, 2014 for projects that arrange for Southeast Asian personnel to visit Taiwan for cultural and artistic exchanges in 2015. Grants will be awarded in amounts up to NT$500,000 per project.

The three speakers on this panel are all experienced academic-activists with deep knowledge about Hong Kong, Taiwan and the two student movements for democracy that have galvanized international attention. They will provide the broad political economic backgrounds to the rise of these movements and analyze their internal dynamics, strategies and cultures.
Ming SING 成名
Ming SING''''s research interests include comparative study of democracy and democratization, political culture, civil society, quality of life, and Hong Kong politics. Currently, an associate professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, he obtained his D.Phil from Oxford University in Sociology and has been the author or editor of four books and over thirty articles.
CHEN Yun Chung 陈允中
Yun-chung CHEN was born in Malaysia. He was trained as a community planner (MPhil in Planning, Taiwan National University; Ph.D. in Urban Planning, UCLA). He is currently an associate professor in Cultural Studies at Lingnan University, Hong Kong. His research focuses on innovation studies and critical urban studies.
Hsin-Hsing CHEN 陈信行
Hsin-Hsing CHEN received his PhD from Department of Science and Technology Studies, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He teaches development theories and social movement at the Graduate Institute for Social Transformation Studies in Shih-Hsin University , Taiwan. This event is part of the Spotlight Taiwan Project |

检查+罚款=管理；
扯皮+刁难=服务；
实干+技术=白忙；
跳舞+喝酒 =业务；
听话+奉承=可靠；
大话+做秀=政绩；
送礼+关系=提拔；
工龄+造假=职称；
文凭+拼爹=招聘；
和谐 +赞成=民主；
联播+歌声=幸福；
卖地+盖楼=财政；
套话+瞌睡=开会；
造假+蒙骗=经营；
截访+维稳=安定；
贿赂 +人情=法制…
1.贪官不是群众选举出来的，是上级领导选拔出来的；
2.贪官不是反贪局捉出来的，是内部互掐抖出来的；
3.贪官不是人民监督出来的，是小偷不慎偷出来的；
4.贪官不是纪检审查出来的，是小三争风吃醋闹出来的；
5.贪官不是百姓举报出来的，是网上日记不慎自爆出来的。
“组织”就是在你遇到困难时，他说无能为力；
在你遇到不公时，他说要正确对待；
在你合法权益受到侵害时，他说要顾全大局；
在你受到诬陷时，他说你要相信组织；
