AGING AND SOCIETY: FIFTH INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE - Call for Papers Proposals for paper presentations, workshops, posters, or colloquia are invited for the Aging and Society: Fifth Interdisciplinary Conference, held 5-6 November 2015 in Washington D.C., USA. We welcome proposals from a variety of disciplines and perspectives that will contribute to the conference discourse. We also encourage faculty and research students to submit joint proposals for paper presentations or colloquia. Proposals are invited that address aging and society through one of the following themes: Conference Themes • Economic and Demographic Perspectives on Aging • Public Policy and Public Perspectives of Aging • Medical Perspectives on Aging, Health, and Wellness • Social and Cultural Perspectives on Aging • Special Focus: Inter-generational Relationships 2015 Special Focus: Inter-generational Relationships The aging population is increasing at an unprecedented rate. In 2006 there were almost 500 million people aged 65 and older with that number projected to increase to 1 billion by 2030. By 2050 1 in 5 people will be over the age of 60 with more people 60 and over in the world population than between the ages of 0-14. With an increasing aging population its more important than ever for the generations to learn how to relate to each other. Different values and perceptions of the world can lead to difficulties in relationships and links that facilitate understanding across generations need to be created. The 2015 Aging and Society Conference special focus on inter-generational relationships will explore the the barriers, benefits, and ways to facilitate inter-generational relationships. Rowland Heights, CA 91748 主講人: Shu-Yi (Wendy) Wang 著重於介紹高齡族群常見造成失能 (disability) 的原因:骨質疏鬆症與跌倒。骨鬆患者最怕跌倒造成骨折,應增加下半身肌力與耐力,也要訓練身體平衡感與心肺功能。內容將以學術專業,輔以臨床經驗,讓聽眾了解預防骨質疏鬆與跌倒的重要性,並現場傳授增加骨質密度與預防跌倒的妙招。目的是幫助聽眾預防失能、並獲取更好的平衡與活動能力,未來不要 “跌” 停。
