1, 您心目中“世界级”科研突破的标准。
世界级科研突破的标准应该符合如下几个标准,
首先,在本领域中突破了最前沿的科学界限。其次,在本领域的顶级专家的一致肯定,第三,经得起一个科学研究领域周期的验证。

2, 近年来,您所从事的研究领域中有哪些“世界级”科研突破?有哪些是中国人(华人)取得的?
我不是一位科学家,但我从事了一个前人都没有做的工作,利用近五年时间,将世界顶级大学美国杜克大学作为机构引入江苏昆山,这项目工作在近十几年中,全球海外办学的200多所机构中,单体规模最大的世界顶级大学落户中国的先例,这将对中国学者在科学研究进入世界级水准有着十分特殊意义。

3, 您对于潘建伟、颜宁、施一公等在中国取得的“世界级”科研突破的看法?
中国13亿人口的大国,海外留学人员达250万,回国不到40%,类似他们这些优秀的科研人才回国的甚少,而且,绝大部分优秀人才还留在海外,我们国家应该反思。

5, 如果您回国来从事科研,您最重视哪个方面(如科研环境),请讲一讲您关于此的故事。
作为一位科研人员,特别是高级的优秀的科研人员,最大的理想是在本领域做出科研上的突破,最重视的是国家对科研人员的重视程度,国内的社会环境,对一流科研人员的各种功能配套。

6, 对于未来中国、中国科学家在科研领域取得“世界级”突破,您有什么判断,为什么?
我认为对中国科学家在科研领域的世界级发展是一个长期挑战的过程,个别或部分优秀人才做出一些突破也是正常的,但是,真正形成一个气氛和一定的规模的人才群,时间还会特别慢长。纵观世界科学发展历史,获得世界诺贝尔科学奖的比例绝大多数在世界一流大学中产生的。从1901年该奖成立以来到2009年的统计,美国大学中前十位大学获得该奖的447名,其它大学获得该奖329名,这些大学都是在美国大学排名前50所大学,,英国总计207位,其中剑桥81,牛津38名,伦敦大学19名,帝国理工18名,爱丁堡9名。其它8所大学共 33名,科学研究机构才 1名,而我们国家的的一流大学和世界一流大学的差距巨大。可以想象,我们国家科研发展的世界级突破还有多么长的时间。

Pedagogy in Health Promotion: The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning - Call for Reviewers
Are you serious about improving the teaching of professionals who work in health care, public health and health promotion? We have a job for you... Be a reviewer for the first major journal dedicated to the broad topic of pre-service and continuing education of health professionals involved in health promotion and public health.
Pedagogy in Health Promotion: The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (PHP) advances pedagogy through contributions in areas such as curriculum and course/program design, assessment, and administration relevant to teaching and learning. The content of the journal is especially relevant to instructors or trainers who provide continuing professional education, in the broad arena of health promotion and disease prevention. The quarterly journal welcomes works addressing the art and science of teaching and learning, and how it contributes to the formation and ongoing development of the health promotion professional working in any site and with a range of populations. We are accepting works of original research, descriptive best practices, commentaries, coaching articles, and thoughtful questions and ideas related to the pedagogy of preparing and continuing to develop those working in health promotion. Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
• Have more than a passing interest in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of your teaching
• Have had more than seven peer reviewed articles published; three must be in the area of teaching and learning
• At least a master’s degree in a relevant field
• Understand the basics to the field of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
• Be able to provide useful, constructive, professional, and appropriate comments to colleagues submitting works for publication
• Meet deadlines to give authors a timely response and feedback to their work
Those in professional continuing education and workforce development are encouraged to apply. Those with inter-professional experience in teaching will be very helpful.
The high quality of the articles that appear in PHP directly relate to the expertise and dedication of our reviewers. This type of service is eligible for continuing education contact hours for Health Education Specialists certification and may be for other health professions. Each year, reviewers are acknowledged in an issue of the journal.
For consideration as a peer reviewer send cover letter and CV to Dr. Stephen Gambescia, Editor-in-Chief, PHP, at sfg23@drexel.edu. State in your cover letter your experience as matched in the criteria listed above, your general interest in the area of Pedagogy, and your specific areas of expertise. After a review of your materials and if you are selected, you will be asked to complete a profile account in our Scholar One manuscript review system.
Pedagogy in Health Promotion: The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning is one of three peer-reviewed journals published by the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). Others include Health Education & Behavior and Health Promotion Practice. PHP is the first major journal dedicated to the broad topic of pre-service and continuing education of health professionals involved in health promotion and public health.

Taiwan wins Junior League World Series championship
Taiwan won the 2014 Junior League World Series championship in Taylor, Michigan on Saturday local time, beating a Texas US baseball team 9 to 1. The series, held Aug. 9 to Aug. 15, brought together eight teams and Taiwan, which took part under the name Chinese Taipei, winning first place in the International Poll with five wins and no losses. Taipei played against the team from Texas, which won first place in the US pool in the final on Saturday.
Gu Lin Ruei-yang, the starting pitcher for the Taiwan team, gave up only four hits and one run during the first six innings. The team is made up of players from Chung-Shan Junior High School in Taichung. Ruei-yang was replaced by Lin Yen-an, who allowed Texas only one hit and no runs. Taiwan had 15 hits during the game and led Texas 6 to 1 after five innings, later adding another three runs. This was Taiwan''''s second championship in a row and 20th since 1972 at the Junior League World Series.

Call for Papers
The International Advisory Board is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Fifth International Conference on Health, Wellness, and Society. The Health Conference will be held from 3-4 September 2015 at Universidad de Alcalá in Madrid, Spain. We welcome submissions from a variety of disciplines and perspectives and encourage faculty and students to jointly submit proposals, discussing health and wellness through one of the following themes:

The Physiology, Kinesiology, and Psychology of Wellness in its Social Context
Interdisciplinary Health Sciences
Public Health Policy and Practices
Health Promotion and Education

Proposal Submissions and Deadlines

从做好信息传递桥梁的角度, 谨建议《神州学人》考虑以下选项:

1. 设立一个系列型栏目;分领域地让国外的一些意见如您在您邮件所讲反馈到国内。

2. To have the column as the editor edited opinion from both pros and cons sides. Debate is a fundamental element in scientific inquiry, there is no exception in social sciences either. You as the editor can control the debate tones on your journal.

3. To minimize the use of those fancy words such as "world class," "break-through," "land-marked," and report the events as they are. I see no problem for the editors'' policy tracing researchers'' China/Chinese roots because the journal itself is titled as 神州学人, you all people with 神州学人 have done a wonderful work in bridging scholars and professionals between China and overseas since early 1990s. Trust your new lines of thinking for the journal will enrich the journal,and take the journal to another high level of its credibility and readership.

All the best wishes to your journal success in the future. Thank you.
