128CUTE的会员及朋友们:
Happy Thanksgiving! We are very pleased to have Chris to share with us his valuable experiences (many years in China) tomorrow.
Topic: The Fresh Perspective Sharing of China’s Fast-moving Industry
Time: 6:00pm, November 26,2013 (Tuesday)
Location: Asiana Bistro, 200 Great Road,Bedford, MA 01730
Phone (781) 280-0707, (781)280-0708
Chris Mills is a north shore resident, Chinese speaker, who has lived and worked in China for more than 15 years. Just prior to the 2008 Olympics, he and his family were relocated to Beijing China by his company Computer Associates. In China, Chris took on a new role managing CA's partner and channel relationships, running pre-sales & support and evangelizing CA technologies for Chinese customers. For family reasons, Chris recently left his latest position as CTO for Huawei's Enterprise BU and is back living in Boston. At this session of 128 CUTE, he will be sharing some of the experiences he had working in China's fast-moving IT industry with us. It's a nice opportunity to hear a fresh perspective from someone who comes straight from China's huge growth in IT in recent years, and to exchange ideas on the future direction of IT in China.
We will have dinner first before the meeting. Look forward to meeting you.

Dear Colleague ,
The Ohio State Graduate Program in Mathematics is inviting applications to both its Ph.D. and M.M.S. degree . For more detailed application and specific program information please see: http://www.math.osu.edu/grad
Full Stipend & Tuition Support is offered to all incoming graduate students either through teaching associateships or, for qualified applicants, in the form of university fellowships.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.): The latest additions include interdisciplinary research, combining methods in topology, computation, and probability theory, as well as new hires in combinatorics, and computational number theory. The department has built strong groups and initiatives in mathematical biology and algebraic geometry, as well as around the interface of our traditional strengths in number theory and ergodic theory. These expansions of our research focus add to a wide representation of virtually every area of mathematics by nearly 90 graduate faculty in mathematics, encompassing also logic, algebra, real and complex analysis, differential equations, differential geometry, geometric group theory, and geometric topology.
Post-doctoral job placements of many of our PhD graduates in the past five years include competitive positions at Princeton University, Institute for Advanced Study, University of Chicago, Yale, Cal-Tech, Rutgers, University of Michigan, and top-institutions abroad.
Master of Mathematical Sciences (M.M.S.):
The M.M.S. is a two-year, terminal degree program with emphasis on practical, interdisciplinary work. Students apply to one of the specializations, in each of which they will collaborate with faculty from partner departments on summer projects and thesis research. Graduates find employment in related public and private sectors, or admission to applied doctoral programs.
Mathematical Biology:
This degree track is co-sponsored by the NSF Mathematical Biosciences Institute at OSU. Research and thesis projects are in collaboration, among others, with the OSU departments of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology , Molecular Genetics , and Microbiology , the Stone Laboratory (Lake Erie), as well as various research units of the OSU Medical School .
Mathematics for Educators:
This degree track serves students with interest in the teaching and, more broadly, the communication of mathematics. The curriculum emphasizes a thorough background in core areas of mathematics as well as courses specially designed in collaboration with the OSU Department of Teaching and Learning . Collaborating units for projects have included, besides Teaching & Learning, the Mathematics & Statistics Learning Center, OSU MOOC projects, and department of Linguistics and Economics.
Computational Sciences:
This specialization represents the third track in our M.M.S. degree program, and provides the mathematical training and background in related fields required in a wide range of computational applications. Interdisciplinary practical projects and theses are designed and carried out in collaborations with the numerous engineering and physical science departments on campus.
Please submit complete applications by December 15th , 2013. Contact us if you would like to have a hard-copy sent to you:
