Dear All：
Joking about killing is not a joke. The October 16th“Jimmy Kimmel Live” show aired a segment of a boy suggesting “killing everyone in China” as a way to avoid paying off US debt to China. The Asian American community is outraged by ABC’s decision to air this segment. The United States of America is made of immigrants from all of the world. We are proud to be contributing members of the society and we strongly advocate media companies to truly value diversity and be sensitive to racial or violent remarks. The local Chinese American are planning a protest on Saturday, November 2nd from10:00-11:30am in Balboa Park, and we hope your media team can be present to report it. The protest will start from Park Blvd near San Diego Zoo.

我们都是旅居美国的华人华侨，周六（11月2日）早十点我们将在San Diego Balboa Park集会向ABC电视台表示抗议，强烈要求他们对他们的错误言论正式公开道歉。请用实际行动支持我们参加这次和平的游行，时间为本周六、11月2日上午10时在临圣地亚哥动物园的公园路（Park Blvd）聚集，然后绕地图路线进行和平游行，沿途向路过的人群发放传单，争取得到他们对该事件的了解和支持，并能一起向白宫请愿，调查这个事件的真正背景和作出严肃处理，同时，能通过媒体来转达我们对ABC和节目制作人的愤慨和强烈抗议。2013年10月16日，在美国ABC电视台的周一儿童圆桌会议秀中，当主持人Jimmy Kimmel问美国欠下中国庞大的债务如何解决时， 其中一位六岁男孩回答：“去地球的另一面杀光所有中国人。” 这时Jimmy Kimmel 既不作纠正也不作质疑地说：“这是一个有趣的想法。” 并继续引导，反复讨论如何杀人，给孩子留下深刻印象和不良影响，也无疑对社会造成了极大的诸多的不安因素。在全美四起的抗议声中，ABC和节目主持人先后给了所谓的道歉，但始终还认为这是个玩笑。可是电视节目宣扬暴力，说杀人“是有趣的想法”，要杀光一个种族，这仅仅是个玩笑吗？如果主持人现在认为他做的“Joke”节目是无心伤害，那么难道谙熟美国媒介法规的ABC电视台也是无心伤害，轻心草率通过了该节目的内容审查令其公开播出的吗？难道该节目后台的ABC电视台就不需承担任何一点责任吗？
宣扬杀人，鼓吹暴力不仅仅伤害了一个族裔，而且危害了整个社会，伤害了所有观众，特别是所有的孩子。因此我们强烈要求当局调查该事件背景，强烈要求ABC电视台必须正式向全社会公开道歉！必须承认这个节目审查严重违反了媒介法，承认在少儿节目中宣扬了不恰当的暴力和种族杀戮！ABC电视台必须对制作播出这个节目承担全部责任，要求ABC电视台在诚恳公开表示道歉的同时，承诺今后保证不再发生类似事件！同时责成ABC电视台对这次节目事故进行调查，追究相关责任人的法律责任！诚邀您能拔冗参加，并请帮助转发邀请。现在是最好的时候以这个事件让所有具有种族歧视倾向的大小势力明白，亚太裔被歧视，被人宣扬使用暴力和杀戮的时代不能再重现了，希望我们所有的中国人亚太裔人团结一致，外御其侮！
