澳門青年交響樂團將於本月31日(周六)上午11時，在天主教教堂(Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception)與男高音儲洪發共同演出「莊嚴音樂會」免費饗宴各界。澳門青年交響樂團成立於1997年，以提升澳門人音樂素養、扮演澳門音樂大使為宗旨。成員為大、中、小學生，歷年演出近200場，足跡遍及歐、亞、美，培養眾多音樂家。該團8月29日在甘迺迪中心演出的「莫札特之夜」，票已索取一空。8月31日的「莊嚴音樂會」，曲目安排同樣出色，精選曲目包括有巴哈「布蘭堡」3號協奏曲、維瓦第小提琴協奏曲「四季」及舒伯特「聖母頌」。天主教教堂場地有4500個座位，可讓錯過「莫札特之夜」的愛樂人士一償向隅之憾。天主教堂地址：400 Michigan Avenue,NE, Washington,DC 20017。詳情可電(202)489-8383。 |

大家好。
我是李娟苓，是诉求在中国退休权益北美华人华侨分会联系人之一。我们的先行者---诉求在中国退休权益德国华人华侨协会和日本华人华侨退休养老金问题联絡会--曾在贵刊发表关于解决海外华人华侨国内退休金问题的议案。我们是有着同样诉求要求的北美同胞；诉求在中国退休权益北美华人华侨分会（北美分会）已于7月21日正式成立。我们殷切希望贵会会员像支持德国和日本协会那样支持我们，踊跃加入北美分会，为争取自己在中国的合法退休权益团结起来共同努力。谢谢。

诉求在中国退休权益北美华人华侨分会宣告成立
北美分会的会员们，北美同胞们：
我们是曾经在中国付出了辛勤劳动的美国、加拿大和新西兰的外籍华人和华侨。当我们离开中国时，中国还没有完善的有关退休养老的政策法令。为了争取自己在中国正当的合法的退休权益，我们成立了「诉求在中国退休权益北美华人华侨分会（以下称“北美分会”）【注】。
我们知道，将雇员的工作和劳动时的部分收入由雇主或国家截留，等到雇员退休后返还，是世界上很多国家保证“老有所养”的国策，是文明国家的标志，是和谐社会的保证。我们还知道，中国在建国后至目前退休养老制度建立前，是执行的“低工资高福利”政策。国家，作为我们在中国为之工作的雇主，已经从劳动者的收入中截留了相当高的比例，而其中的一部分就是用于返还给符合退休条件的劳动者的生活费用。每个曾在中国工作和劳动过的人，到达退休年龄后，中国政府理应有责任返还本来就属于他们的钱。但由于种种原因，我们在北美的外籍华人华侨还没有得到他们应得的利益。
我们北美大部分会员都有十五年以上甚至数十年的工龄。在中国时，他们是业务的骨干。他们曾是：教师、教授、研究员、工程师、翻译、主治医师、演员、经理、外交官，等等，为中国的建设做出了贡献，也获得了享受退休的权益。
为此，我们热切盼望有共同诉求愿望的北美同胞参加我们的“北美分会”，为我们自身的利益一起努力。在“北美分会” 这个论坛上，我们可以讨论相关政策，交流争取退休权益的信息和经验。“北美分会”的活动包括（但不限于）以各种方式向中国和本国政府有关部门积极表达我们的诉求。
【注】：在全球范围里，「诉求在中国退休权益德国华人华侨协会」是领导海外华人华侨争取此权益的先驱，他们一系列的文章报道促成了北美分会的建立。由于北美分会刚刚成立，我们暂时属于「诉求在中国退休权益德国华人华侨协会的分会。此外，日本的同胞，也有类似的团体，名为「日本华人华侨退休养老金问题联絡会」。

奧巴馬：主席先生，我看過你們《舌尖上的中國》節目，我發現中華文化雖然博大精深，但其實就是"吃"的文化。
習近平：總統先生，何以見得？
奧巴馬：你看，你們那裡工作崗位叫飯碗，謀生叫糊口，過日子叫混飯吃，混得好叫吃得開，受人羡慕叫吃得香，得到照顧叫吃小灶，花積蓄叫吃老本，女人漂亮叫秀色可餐，占女人便宜叫吃豆腐，靠長輩生活的人叫啃老族，男人老花女人的錢叫吃軟飯， 幹活過多叫吃不消，被人傷害叫吃虧，吃虧不敢聲張叫啞巴吃黃連，男女嫉妒叫吃醋，下定決心叫王八吃秤砣，不聽勸告叫軟硬不吃，辦事不力叫吃乾飯，辦事收不了場叫吃不了兜著走……
習主席打斷他說：我們應該從戰略高度討論中美關係，您怎麼盡說這些無聊的事，是不是吃飽了撐的沒事幹了?
奧巴馬一聽，當即暈倒。醒來後
習主席語重心長地說：總統先生，對中美新型大國關係的重要性，我們一定要吃深吃透。這方面我們兩國都沒有老本可吃。世界的遊戲規則就是大魚吃小魚，但現在冷戰思維已不吃香，合作共贏才能吃得開。只要中美兩國強強聯手，一定能贏者通吃。有些人喜好吃裡扒外，專吃破壞中美關係這碗飯，跟我們爭風吃醋，讓我們吃了不少苦頭，建設戰略夥伴關係更加吃力。我們一定要吃一塹長一智，不能再讓他們吃著碗裡看著鍋裡，也好讓全世界吃顆定心丸。總統先生，對這些見解您還有什麼吃不準的？ 如果沒有，我很願意跟您在這個莊園裡共進晚餐！
奧巴馬目瞪口呆，半晌才說：中華文化果然深不可測！主席一席話只有最後一句沒有”吃”字！

Dear parents and students, after a long, hot, cool, sunny, and fun summer, a new semester is just around the corner; Xilin Chinese Academy's classes will start on this coming Saturday. Please find your book pack, calculator, electronic game system, and a few pencils to get ready for the new semester. If you haven't registered for the classes yet, please log onto Xilin.org to do so. Please note that Xilin's famous math class AMC is coming back for fall semester. If you are a math lover or wannabe, register the class and you will be thrilled. A new class is added to its curriculum: Chinese Calligraphy. Mr. Chengquan Wang will be the instructor for this class. It is going to be a fun class for our kids. During the Chinese Culture Land Summer Camp, kids loved this class and enjoyed the mess they made during the process of producing beautiful characters! AMS Class for 2013 Fall Semester
Good News! Our beloved math teacher, Mrs. Shiying Ning, is coming back to Xilin to teach AMS class for the coming fall semester. Mrs. Ning had taught at Xilin Chinese Academy for many years. Students from her math classes had won numerous awards in math competitions in the States. Now Mrs. Ning is going to teach again at Xilin. Let's give her a warm welcome back and wish the best of her! The following is the description of AMC class which is going to be offered for Fall semester.

AMC (American Mathematics Contest)
AMC 10 or AMC 12 is a 25 question, 75 minute multiple choice examination in secondary school mathematics containing problems which can be understood and solved with pre-calculus concepts. Calculators are not allowed starting in 2008.
AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination) is an intermediate examination between the AMC 10 or AMC 12 and the USAMO. All students who took the AMC 12 and achieved a score of 100 or more out of a possible 150 are invited to take the AIME. All students who took the AMC 10 and had a score of 120 or were in the top 1% also qualify for the AIME.
Xilin After-school Program (ASP)
2013 Fall ASP is already started. All the kids are enjoying the new Xilin After-school Program. In order to provide our kids a fun, healthy and intellectual environment, Xilin administration has made some changes and a few new classes to the program:
1. Hip Hop Dance Class
The class is going to be held on Friday afternoon. Mrs. Vanda Varnai-Garcia is the instructor. Mrs. Vanda Varnai-Garcia is specialized in ballroom, modern, hip-Hop and Jazz. This class is open to both boys and girls. It is going to be fun!
2. Math class: A new math class is going to be offered for After-School students. Mrs. Jenny Wong will be the teacher and she will help all the students to advance in math with fun activities.
3. Arts and Crafts: Mrs. Jenny Wong is going to teach kids to make fun products which with various medias.
All of these new classes along with Ping-pong, Kung Fu, basic and intensive Chinese classes, Xilin after-school program will be a fun, educational, and healthy environment for kids to spend their afternoon.
