On behalf of US-China CEO Association (www.uschinaceo.org), you are cordially invited to join us for the “Select Wuxi – A conference on Building a Modern Service Industry” organized by Wuxi Municipal Government. The event will be held on May 20, 2013, at Middletown of New York City. This is an opportunity to engage with Chinese Government officials from Wuxi and more than 200 CEOs involved in building business opportunities between the US and China. The keynote speaker this year is Mr. Huang Qin, Executive Deputy Mayor of Wuxi who will be speaking on the topic of “Select Wuxi”. 一.海外公民通訊投票制度有助於落實台灣憲法所保障公民之參政權, 允宜廣向僑胞宣揚其意義與價值所在。
二. 請僑民踴躍就本議題表達心聲, 作為政府施政參考, 請於5月 20日前寄回洛僑中心. 請轉寄您所知道的僑民, 爭取僑民權益, 表達海外心聲!
核四公投／不只國內 海外也投
海外通訊投票制度在台灣推動困難，而核四公投，不只是現在要對核四停建與否做成決定，更影響了我台灣能源供應及經濟政策的長期走向，既攸關你我、亦攸關到下一代。朝野難得齊心選擇公投，要讓全民一起參與這個重大決定。為何卻只考慮到修法採行「國內移轉投票」，刻意忽略在海外也有台灣公民對核四議題同樣關心。 如果是信任問題，美、英、德、日等先進國家均實行通訊投票多年，未見有人質疑其信任問題；如果是技術問題，這些先進國家設計的通訊投票技術，難道不足供我國參考採用？何況，台灣有令外國人稱羨的戶籍制度，海外尚設有一百一十八個駐點（包含大使館、代表處及辦事處），沒道理推不動。癥結點或許如日本最高院所說，是「政府偷懶」、「立法怠惰」，非不能也，是不為也。走過了解嚴、以及政黨輪替，有沒有可能，把握這次核四公投，朝野跨越黨派積極修法，併採國內移轉投票與海外通訊投票制度，讓台灣民主更上一層樓。總之，推動核四公投，務必採行海外通訊投票制度作為配搭，鼓勵全民，不分海內外，一起站出來決定核四的未來。

由中國國務院僑辦主辦、湖南省僑辦承辦的「文化中國─名家講壇」，6月2日將首次在芝加哥地區登場。該講壇芝加哥站的主題為「曾國藩與中國傳統文化」、「辛亥革命與湖南」，邀請湖南學者型作家唐浩明、鄭佳明教授主講。 唐浩明為長篇歷史小說「曾國藩」作者，鄭佳明則為長篇歷史題材電視劇「走向共和」總策劃、電視連續劇「雍正王朝」總監製。「文化中國─名家講壇」由國務院僑務辦公室主辦，自2007年開始，已邀請多名中國知名專家學者赴海外開講，旨在傳播中華傳統文化、促進中外文化交流。在芝加哥舉辦的「文化中國─名家講壇」，由旅美中國科學家工程師專業人士協會（科工專）、美國中西部湖南同鄉會、北京大學校友會和芝加哥文化村共同主辦。 演講時間為6月2日下午1時至5時，地點在芝加哥西郊橡樹溪假日飯店（Holiday Inn at Oakbrook Terrace），地點為17W350 22nd Street,Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181。 主辦社團並將於當日晚上6時至9時，在芝加哥西郊狀元樓餐廳設晚宴歡迎唐、鄭一行人，晚宴並開放各界購票參加，詳情可電（847）287-1168、（630）362-1505。 |

Dear friend:
As the first Chinese-American woman mayor in U.S. history, I’ve watched with pride as our Asian-American community has grown and prospered over the decades. Now is the time to broaden our political power. Regardless of our origins or political affiliations, let us come forward in unity and togetherness to help elect the next Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti. Please join me and the Who’s Who of the Asian-American business and political community for a very special event for Eric this Thursday afternoon. Eric is endorsed by the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Business Journal and much of our Asian-American leadership.
Sorry for the short notice: it’s because this Thursday is our last chance to push him to victory in the election which is the following Tuesday. Although Eric is the clear front-runner, the election promises to be close enough that our community can make the crucial difference. No matter where we live, the Mayor role is dear to us all as the face of Los Angeles, the city at the heart of all of us with emotional, business and spiritual ties to both Asia and America. We will demonstrate to the gathered media and to the world that we have matured politically, and now are ready to take our rightful place of power.

据我所知，此案十有八九是冤案。很可能是其领养侄女社会工作者或学校制造的。因为此夫妇俩的人生追求和品位完全没有做这种事的道理。作为华裔，我们都知道西人心底里拿我们当外人，所以，主流媒体有此类对我们不利的报道，要么不报。要么应首先冠以“又一李文和类冤案？”之类的无罪假设。不加分析的替他们散布这类新闻是对我们自己的侮辱。很愚蠢。
要知道，Alberta的华人都在想办法体他们夫妇俩找回公道。如要报道，我们自己应把这些人的活动放在此新闻的前面. |
