The USC U.S.-China Institute and the Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture present a panel discussion on the film industry in China and its impact on the American market.

Based on the survey on Chinese movies' international influence conducted by the Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture (AICCC), there are many misunderstandings about Chinese movies and Chinese culture. AICCC picked five contemporary Chinese movies of different genres that are popular in the Chinese market and presents a panel discussion with American movie experts and scholars.

Clayton Dube (杜克雷) has headed the USC U.S.-China Institute since it was established by USC President C.L. Nikias in 2006 to focus on the multidimensional U.S.-China relationship.
Panelists
Stanley Rosen is a professor of political science at USC specializing in Chinese politics and society and was the Director of the East Asian Studies Center at USC''''s Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences from 2005-2011.
Jason E. Squire, professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, teaches movie business, case studies and screenwriting. Squire's groundbreaking research on business aspects of entertainment helped establish "movie business" as a distinct area of academic study.
Richard Anderson received a Special Achievement Oscar for Sound Editing on Raiders of the Lost Ark（1981）. He was also nominated for both Poltergeist （1982）and Daylight （1996）. He also won an Emmy for his work on Amazing Stories （1985）as well as Golden Reel Awards for Predator（1987）and The Lion King（1994）.
Robert Rosen is a professor, critic, preservationist and Dean Emeritus of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He has spoken at scholarly, public, and professional meetings in more than twenty nations on subjects related to film criticism, media history, film and television production and curatorship.
Huilin Huang is the foundinng director of AICCC. She was the Director of the Film, Television and Theater Research Center of Beijing Normal University, a standing member of the Arts Education Committee of the Chinese Ministry of Education, chairperson of the Film and Television Education Committee of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, and Vice Chairperson of the Research Association of the History and Theory of Chinese Drama.
Shixian Huang is Professor Emeritus of the famed Beijing Film Academy（since 1961）. He is also Vice Chair of the Chinese University Association for Film & TV Studies（since 1989）, and a board member of the Film Critics Association of China. He is a jury member of many film festivals. |  主人回复 | | | We have over 820 high ranking scholars and professional members showed the interest of this event, but 溧水 could take only very few or limited ones.
They would have to go through the very tough decisions during their selection process. Usually, if they really liked your project or qualification, you should receive the invitation before 10/5. If you have not received any confirmation of the invitation yet, more likely you may not be on their final list. It will not hurt to send your email to IOCSC@yahoo.com and ask for sure.
