We are pleased to inform you that the DEADLINE for abstract and paper submission to the 2018 Workshop on Complexity in Engineering (COMPENG) http://compeng2018.ieeesezioneitalia.it/ has been EXTENDED to Friday June 15. Please be aware that no further extensions will be possible. The meeting will take place on October 10-12, 2018 in Florence - Italy. Authors are encouraged to submit abstract or papers on their research considering, but not being limited to, the following topics:

- Bio-physics, stochastic processes and noise

假如苏轼、金庸、鲁迅来参加高考……
再过几天就是全中国的高考之日，你有没有想过，如果以前也有高考，这些作家诗人会怎么应对呢？
1、假如苏轼也来参加高考：
答案几时有，把卷问考官。不知来年今日，能否不霸蛮？我欲乘考归去，又恐名落孙山，复读不胜烦。早起又贪黑，何似在耕田。 解函数，练语法，求杠杆。怎能无恨？何事长像答卷难。题有千奇百怪，解又百思还残。此事年复年，只怨人不叼，考完泪满面。
2、假如鲁迅也来参加高考：
桌上有两张纸，一张是试卷，另一张也是试卷。初夏已经颇热，脊背上却一层又一层冷汗。题目照例是不会做了，先生的讲义上全然没有见过。责任似乎并不在我，譬如使惯了刀的，这回要我耍棍，能行么？
3、假如徐志摩也来参加高考：
悄悄地我出了考场，正如我悄悄地来。我挥一挥试卷，从此告别题海。
4、假如仓央嘉措也来参加高考：
做与不做，题目都在那里，不多不少，会与不会，题目都在那里，不难不易，让我的眼，走进你的试卷里，或者你把小抄，递进我的手心，默然焦虑，寂静哭泣。
5、假如琼瑶也来参加高考：
老师，我一直在晕耶！进了考场，我晕，见了监考老师，我还晕，拿到试卷，我更晕了。我真的觉得我好无用，好无能，好脆弱，好对不起大家……
6、假如舒婷也来参加高考：
你有你的偏题怪题，像刀，像剑，又像戟。我有我的焦虑不安，像沉重的叹息，又像英勇的飞蛾···
7、假如金庸也来参加高考：
尽管试卷题目古怪，而答题者的手法更是匪夷所思，闻所未闻。只见个个学子笔锋在空横书斜钓，似乎入境一般，笔锋所指，处处是大题难题。
8、假如朱自清也来参加高考：
这几天心里颇不宁静，看着试卷上日日见过的题目，像牛毛，像花针，像细丝，密密的斜织着，却无从做起。于是忆起《长歌行》里的句子：少壮不努力，老大徒伤悲……这样想着，猛一抬头，却见监考老师在讲台上迷迷糊糊，快要睡着了。
9、假如古龙也来参加高考：
江湖中令人头疼的高考，据说也有人不头疼，但不头疼的人只有一种人，那就是死人。所以至今提起高考，没有一个不头疼的。一间教室，三十考生，六盏灯，人就这样坐着，均匀的呼吸，凝固的空气。
10、假如胡适也来参加高考：
6月1日，打牌；6月2日，打牌；6月3日，胡适之啊胡适之！你怎么能如此堕落！先前订下的学习计划你都忘了吗？子曰：“吾日三省吾身。”不能再这样下去了！ 6月4日，打牌；6月5日，打牌。
最后，还有两个彩蛋：
1、假如甄嬛也来参加高考：
小主今日考试倍感乏力，恐是昨夜梦魇扰了心神，都是最近琐事众多烦闷了些，加上早起后，背了点单词，不想那单词难背极了，愈加心烦。若能取消高考，那必是极好的！
2、假如赵忠祥也来参加高考：
答题卡上白茫茫一片，像冰雪笼罩着的阿拉斯加。绝望之中，我只好紧紧闭上眼睛，像一头濒死的海豹，坠入无边的冰冷与黑暗。 |

Dear Colleague,
Primary Election Day is June 5th and the poll numbers are showing it’s a tight race in the campaign to elect Tony Thurmond for Superintendent of Public Instruction. You see, Tony is one of us. He’s African American and Latino—his mother was from Panama. And he is deeply committed to making sure our children, kids in our communities, have the same opportunity he had to become a productive and well-respected member of society.
As members and leaders in your ethnic minority communities, you are in a position to make a difference in this election through your outreach. It is extremely important to vote for Tony and other CTA-recommended candidates who believe that a free, quality public education builds stronger local communities and maintains public education as the cornerstone of our democratic society.
In many races again this election cycle, corporate special interests are pouring in millions to support candidates who want to privatize our public schools, increase the number of privately-managed charter schools, strip students in our communities of the resources they need to succeed, and strip educators of their rights. That is why it is really important that we vote and urge others to vote.
Please remind family members, friends and others in your neighborhood, social and community-based organizations, or place of worship how important it is that they vote on June 5th.
