The Division of Applied Mathematics at Brown University provides an intellectually challenging, yet supportive, environment for students interested in applied mathematics and related interdisciplinary fields. The Division has a long history of distinguished faculty, including a National Medal of Science and Fields Medalist recipient, members of the National Academy of Sciences and IMS and SIAM Fellows. Qualified graduate students admitted to the program are guaranteed five-years up port through fellowships, teaching and research assistantships, as well as summer support. Applications for admission in the 2012-2013 academic year should be submitted no later than January 3, 2012.

We are excited to be holding the Third International on Sport and Society at the Cambridge University, one of the world's oldest and most renowned universities. The conference commences just days before the start of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Participants can experience all of the excitement and anticipation of one of sports greatest events. The International Conference on Sport and Society and its companion International Journal of Sport and Society provide a forum for wide-ranging and interdisciplinary examination of sport, including: the history, sociology and psychology of sport; sports medicine and health; physical and health education; and sports administration and management. This year's conference will also offer a special stream on Disability in Sport.
In addition to an impressive line-up of international plenary speakers, the conference will include paper presentations, workshops, and colloquia submitted by practitioners, teachers and researchers. Please refer to the Call-for-Papers for proposal submission guidelines and descriptions of sessions. Presenters may also choose to submit written papers for publication in the fully refereed International Journal of Sport and Society. If you are unable to attend the conference in person, virtual registrations are also available. Dear Colleagues and Friends: Happy Thanksgiving!
As some of you probably know, four Boston oversea returnees have registered their companies in Binhai, Shaoxing of Zhejiang province. With support from the Binhai New Area, these four companies are expected tostart their business operations soon. The New Area is rich in various resources and ambitious in developing itself into an affluent and influential high-tech zone.
In the coming Saturday, December 3rd, a Binhai delegation, led by the head of the administrative committee, will visit Boston, meeting with whoever has a technology project and is interested in working with the Binhai administrations. Chinese and Americans are all welcome! On behalf of the delegation, we would like to invite you to join a business conference to meet the officials to learn the business environment with various supporting policies and discuss potential opportunities, and to talk to the four registered company executives to better understand Binhai. The conference will be held in Marriott Hotel in Newton. Great lunch and personal gift will be provided. However, RSVP is needed.
