Abstract： Speech perception in strong noise is usually challenging. This talk focuses on mechanisms, factors, and response strategies for the effects of noise masking on speech perception. In addition, this talk will involve the effects of adverse noise on hearing and tips for hearing protection.

A Short Bio:  Dr. Mingshuang Li is an assistant professor with audiologist certificate（e.g., CCC-A）and licensure at California State University, Northridge. His research focuses on speech perception, training, and enhancement in noise with psychoacoustical experiments, especially for bilingual listeners and populations with hearing loss or pitch processing disorders（e.g., amusia and tone agnosia）. In addition, his clinical experience involves behavioral and electrophysiological hearing evaluation（e.g., tympanometry, audiometry, VRA, CPA, OAE, and ABR）, hearing aid fitting/fine-tuning, balance evaluation（e.g., VNG test）and therapy（e.g., BPPV treatment）.
