My dear friend, I hope this letter finds you all in good health and high spirits. I wanted to take a moment to share my recent update. After much consideration, this week I have accepted the official offer to join the Department ofKinesiology, Recreation, and Sports Studies at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville as the Department Head and Professor, commencing this August.
As I embark on this new chapter in my career, I invite you to pay me a visit if you happen to find yourselves in the vicinity of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park area. The beauty of the landscape is awe-inspiring, and I would be delighted to show you around and catch up on our shared experiences. It would be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and continue fostering the bonds we have formed in the past.
While it is difficult to bid farewell to a place (UMN) that has become so dear to my heart, I am also excited about the possibilities and new horizons that await me at the University of Tennessee. Leading a large department with over 1800 students and a considerable number of faculty and staff is both a career development opportunity and a challenge to me. Please stay in touch, and do not hesitate to reach out whenever you wish. I look forward to our continued friendship, collaboration, and mutual support.
With warm regards and heartfelt thanks,
Zan
