Thank you to all attendees of our first
2013 AAPA program workshop for a successful event. We were happy to
hear that there were many takeaways from the three tracks. Our next
event, the General Session #2 on Monday, April 29
will be another opportunity to connect with the mentors. Also, we are
excited to announce our upcoming AAPI Executive Forum; a feature AAPA
event co-hosted with Southern California Gas Company.
Remember to find time to connect with your
mentor. This relationship is only of value if there is dialogue between
the two parties. Do not let this
opportunity slip away as we are already a third
of the way through the year. We also would recognize the Mentor Class
of 2013. We welcome our six new mentors as they bring a fresh
perspective to the AAPA family.

Workshop #1
Thank you all who turned out to our Saturday
Workshop. The AAPA mentees are thankful for having the opportunity to
hear mentors share their experience and insights on career planning and
to engage in interactive activities that enhance
their skill sets. There were many takeaways. A Track 3 mentee wrote
regarding the session,
How to Find Your Own Mentors, “Great topic to lead me [to]
think about the importance of mentoring relationships and how to find
the mentor that fits my need.” Another mentee, mentioned that a track 2
presentation was “very informative on [explaining]
about moving up from an individual contributor to [a] leader.” We
appreciate all your honest feedback and are always exploring ways to
cater our sessions to your needs.
We look forward to seeing you at our General Session #2 held on Monday, April 29.
