　　美国南加州华人环保协会计划在今年8月继续举办国际环境研讨会，并将研讨会更名为“洛杉矶环境论坛”，今年的论坛在原有的大会与专题发言，专题培训讲座内容以外，还增加了环境展和人才交流会，会议期间参观路线也有所更新。欢迎支持和参与，如有意愿在美国招聘环境专业毕业留学研究生或购买环境设备的单位和企业，欢迎参展，也希望大家帮助广为宣传。

Call for Best Student Research Awards Papers

Deadline for submission：June 30, 2014

The Southern California Chinese-American Environmental Protection Association（SCCAEPA）is hosting the 2014 Los Angeles Environmental Forum from August 7 through 9, 2014 at Hilton San Gabriel, Los Angeles, California.

As part of the Forum program, SCCAEPA invites you to submit a research paper for the 2014 Best Student Research Competition. Prize will be awarded to the winners.

Topics and Eligibility

Topics are limited to research work related to environmental issues. The research work may include on-going research or published after July 2013. All degree levels（Bachelor, Master, Doctorate, or other professional degrees）of college students are eligible. Individuals may submit only one paper. The applicant must be the primary author of the paper. All previous award winning papers are NOT eligible to participate.

Submission and Format

Submission shall include:

1）A presentation in PowerPoint slides format.

2）A 400 to 600-word written summary of the research, which must include, at a minimum：i）Synopsis of the research; ii）Objectives and goals of the research; iii）Discussion of the work performed and results, including the student’s specific role or contribution to the research; iv）Conclusions and recommendations.

3）Applicant’s updated resume.

All required materials shall ONLY be submitted by e-mail to board@sccaepa.org by June 30, 2014 for evaluation.

The selected presentations will be displayed as posters at the Forum on August 7, 2014 at Hilton San Gabriel, 225 West Valley Blvd, San Gabriel, CA 91776.

Review Process and Judging Criteria

Research project will be reviewed by a SCCAEPA student award committee. All corresponding authors will be notified by August 1, 2014 of the result on their submittals. The selected paper will be eligible for poster presentation and receipt of the awards at the Forum. The winners must be present to receive the award on August 7, 2014. The authors of the selected papers will be responsible to prepare their posters on 3 ft by 4 ft project display boards（up to three per presenter）and present them in the designated area during the Forum.

The research project will be reviewed and judged on the basis of the following criteria:

• Relevance to the theme of environmental protection and significance of the work to a broad audience
• Application of the academic research to the real world problems
• Originality of the work, including new concepts, innovations, or data
• Scientific and technical merit
• The completeness of the project, clarity of presentation and quality of the slides
• Student’s specific role and contribution to the project.
