Dear Trojan Parents and Family Members,

The 2014 school year is in full swing! Students are writing papers, studying for exams and preparing presentations. There are many activities your student can enjoy as a break from their studies including film screenings and lecture musical performances and sporting events. News from the Office for Parent Programs:

Registration is open for the 2014 Trojan Family Weekend
Trojan Family Weekend 2014 is Thursday, November 13 through Sunday, November 16. This is a great way for the entire family to share in your student’s USC journey and experience what it means to be part of the spirited Trojan Family. The Thursday night football game is against Pac-12 rival California Bears. For Trojan Family Weekend registration, click here, call 213.740.6775 or email scparent@usc.edu. Here’s some important registration information:

  • The registration fee increases at 5pm PST on Monday, November 3, 2014. Registration fees increase to $125 per adult and $100 per child(ages 10-17).
  • Trojan Family Weekend registration closes at 5pm PST on Monday, November 10.
  • On-site registration(if available):Registration fee is $150 per adult, $125 per child(ages 10-17). Some events may be at capacity.

*** Football tickets are not included in the registration fee.
Registration packets will be available for pick-up at the Trojan Family Weekend Welcome tent(located in Herklotz Plaza)from 7am – 3pm on Thursday, November 13 & Friday, November 14.

Trojan Family Weekend Mobile App- This free app will be available for all Trojan Family Weekend participants to enhance the weekend experience. Be on the lookout for the launch date and download the app in the Google Play and iTunes stores. This free app is courtesy of Spirit of Troy Sponsor, Creative Productions. More information will be posted soon on the Trojan Family Weekend website.

USC Career Center Seeks Parent Volunteers with Human Resources Backgrounds
The USC Career Center is seeking parents with a background in human resources, or related fields, to join the Executive Volunteer Program. Volunteers provide professional advice to students(from freshmen to Ph.D. candidates)regarding their resumes and cover letters. The time commitment is one day per week for four hours(preferably 11:30am - 3:30pm)up to five weeks. Volunteers must have a bachelor’s degree with more than seven years of experience in human resources, recruiting, onboarding, talent management, workforce development, outplacement services or related fields. Interested applicants should email their resume to careers@usc.edu with “Executive Volunteer Program” in the subject line.

Register Today for Bay Area Parent Event
USC Parent Leadership Circle invites you to attend a parent reception on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 to meet Dr. Arthur W. Toga, Provost Professor and Director of Neuro Imaging and Informatics. The reception is open to all parents. Respond online by Wednesday, October 22 online at usc.edu/rsvp(code:Parents2014). USC Office of Undergraduate Admissions Offers Parent Volunteer Opportunities
Fall recruitment has begun in the Office of Undergraduate Admission for the Class of 2019. Admissions is seeking parent volunteers to attend college fairs and receptions around the country. If you're interested in representing USC to prospective freshman students at college fairs or prospective student open houses, register here. If you haven’t registered with the Admission Volunteer database yet, follow instructions here. USC Dornsife Invites Families to Saturday Tours of the USC Pacific Asia Museum
USC’s Pacific Asia Museum offers docent led tours looking at highlights of the collection. Admission to the Saturday tour is free for members and is included with museum admission for non-members. Free for all USC faculty, staff, students and alumni with current ID. For more information, click here.

Trojan Athletic Fund and 2014 USC Football Season Tickets
USC home football games are a wonderful time for families to come together and see their student on campus while enjoying the exciting action of a USC football game. Many parents ask for information on how to get priority seating for the football season and the additional benefits associated with joining a Trojan Athletic Fund membership. Contact the USC Ticket Office for individual game tickets(213.740.GOSC). For those wishing to discuss opportunities to upgrade seats, contact us at 213.740.4155 or visit www.trojanathleticfund.com.

October 30Graduate Schools Fair – Is your student thinking about going to graduate school after USC? The Graduate Schools Fair is your student's opportunity to speak informally with graduate school representatives about their programs and receive information on application procedures. If your student needs further advice, The USC Dornsife Office of Pre-Graduate School Advising serves all alumni and current students, regardless of school or major, who are considering graduate school. Make an appointment today.

Engemann Student Health Center Offers Flu Shots
During the month of October, the Engemann Student Health Center has flu shots available to students, while supplies last. For more information, click here or call 213.740.9355.

On Wednesday, November 5, the Engemann Student Health Center is sponsoring the LA County of Public Health Flu Shot Clinic on the USC campus. The clinic will be set up near Tommy Trojan on Trousdale Parkway. For more information, click here.

Important Dates and Activities for Graduating Seniors
Start planning now for USC’s commencement on Friday May 16, 2015. More information will be posted soon on USC Commencement at https://commencement.usc.edu/. Contact local hotels and restaurants early for your reservations and celebrations.
