2015 CHINESE BRIDGE PRELIMINARY PROFICIENCY CONTEST

Confucius Institute at San Diego State University is excited to announce the 2015 Chinese Bridge Proficiency Competition Preliminary Contest sponsored by Los Angeles Chinese General Consulate Office, and hosted by Confucius Institute at San Diego State University. The competition will be held on Friday, May 15th, 2015 at Mission Bay High School in San Diego, California. 　　

Student must be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled in 1st-12th grade and must not be a Chinese native speaker. No Exceptions. 　

 　　The subjects in the competition include Mandarin language proficiency, knowledge of China and Chinese culture, and Chinese cultural skills. Please see the guidelines below. 　　

*Each teacher may register up to 2 students per class to allow even distribution. Further notice will be sent out to allow additional registration once all Confucius Classroom Schools have registered.* 

  The deadline to submit your registration online is Friday, April 24, at 4:00 PM（Pacific Daylight Savings Time）. Registration process may be closed earlier based on space availability. No registration will be accepted past the due date and time. No exceptions.

Preliminary Contest Detail

The competition consists of 3 parts:

1 minute and 30 seconds oral speech

Speech content is based on the the students level of Chinese:

1. Elementary Level（grades 1 - 5）：
   1. （1 - 2 yr of Chinese learning experience）
      topic：我认识的一个中国人
   2. （3 or more years of Chinese learning experience）
      topic：我最喜欢去的地方
2. Secondary Level（grades 6 - 12）：
   1. （1 - 2 yr of Chinese learning experience）
      topic：学中文趣事
   2. （3 or more years of Chinese learning experience）
      topic：我的中国梦

Quiz Session

Quiz questions are related to the content learned in class and Chinese culture.

2-Minute Talent Show

The content of the show is by student's own choice. Some suggested options are：singing, dancing, poem recital, Kung Fu demo, etc. The content must be related to Chinese language and culture.

2015“汉语桥”世界中小学生中文比赛-美西南地区预赛

圣地亚哥州立大学孔子学院非常激动地宣布由中国驻洛杉矶总领事馆教育组主办、圣地亚哥州立大学孔子学院（圣大孔院）承办的2015年“汉语桥”世界中小学生中文比赛美西南地区预赛将与2015年5月15日在加州圣地亚哥米逊湾高中大礼堂举办。     

参赛学生必须为1至12年级母语非中文的美国公民。     

此次比赛主要测试参赛者的汉语语言能力，对中国及中华文化的了解程度，以及与中国文化相关特长。详情请参阅下述指南。 　　

*每位老师每班最多可为2位学生报名以保证名额均匀分配。待所有孔子课堂学校完成报名后将开放额外注册名额。*

网上报名截止日期为 4月24日下午4时（周五）（太平洋夏令时）。 如人数满额报名系统将被提前关闭。超过截止日期将不再接受任何报名。

预赛细节

问答环节

问题包括中文课堂上所学习的内容以及中国文化。    


2分钟才艺表演

学生可自主选择才艺进行表演。相关建议如下：唱歌，跳舞，诗朗诵，功夫表演等。内容必须与中文和中国文化相关。
