Spotlight:Educators
China Institute has recently expanded our programs for educators. Teach China is a comprehensive professional development program offered to provide a wealth of opportunities for K-12 educators to enhance their knowledge of China. Our latest short course - Windows into China - is a five-session course on Chinese history, language, education, and philosophy. We All Live in the Forbidden City(WALFC)recently added two new workshops that we can bring to schools, museums, and libraries. Mandarin for Future Mandarin Teachers(MFMT)will offer its 10th professional development program in China for in-service and pre-service Chinese teachers. Learn More

Windows into China:A Short Course for Educators**
Thursdays, March 10, 17, 31; April 7, 14; 4:30-6:30PM
In March, we launch Windows into China a five-session short course providing a thorough overview of China in history, philosophy, education and language. Each session will be led by a distinguished scholar from their respective field, followed by a pedagogy session with a master K-12 educator. Register Now |
Plan for Better Teaching**
Saturdays, March 12, 19; April 2, 9; 1:00-3:30PM
For Mandarin teachers we offer Plan for Better Teaching, a pedagogical short course focusing on best practices to teach Chinese in standard-based classroom teaching. Dr. Wu Weiling will lead the sessions on curriculum developing, lesson planning, assessment and classroom management, as well as individual mentoring time for in-service and pre-service teachers.
