Spotlight：Fall Season Announced
This fall China Institute celebrates our 90th Anniversary and opening of our inaugural exhibition - Art in the Time of Chaos：Masterworks from Six Dynasties China - in our new downtown location. Activities include our Mid-Autumn Festival & Open House, a special membership exhibition preview, our Blue Cloud Gala, the grand opening of the exhibit to the public on September 30th, exhibit related programming and workshops, the opening of Fall Classes for Adults, Kids & Teens, a special lecture series and wonderful public events, and a whole lot more.

Fall Special Course
A Rare Gem of Language Course：The Classical Chinese
Tuesdays, Sep 27-Dec 6
6:30PM-8:30PM
Taught by Ben Wang, Senior Lecturer at China Institute.
Marked by its succinctness and expressiveness, classical Chinese manifests fully the unique characteristic of the visceral language, which is an uncanny blending of music and painting, in that spoken Chinese is music and written Chinese, painting. It is only in classical Chinese that the visceral comes to meet with the cerebral, leading to an enchanted garden of poetry and other fine cultural genres.

Mandarin Meet Up at China Institute
Meet with like-minded people who are interested in Chinese and eager to practice! Join us at Mandarin Meetup organized by the Adult Language and Studio Programs at China Institute this Fall. With facilitators who are native speakers and are professionally trained in teaching Chinese as a second language, you will get the most out of the meetups.
You don't need to speak Mandarin to join us at all. Our only expectation? Feel the Chinese culture and language, and enjoy communicating in Mandarin!
