福建医科大学创建于1937年，位于中国福建省会城市福州，是福建省“双一流”建设高校，位列软科“2019年中国最好医科大学”排名第17名。

Fujian Medical University（FJMU）wasfounded in 1937 and is currently located in Fuzhou, the capital city of FujianProvince. It is on the list of“Double first-class”universities that FujianProvince intends to cultivate and has been ranked 17th of“2019 BestMedical Universities in China”according to the academic ranking by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy.

学校现有2个校区，规划占地约1500亩。设有21个学院（部），27个本科专业，现有教职医护员工11900多人（含附属医院），在校全日制学生16000多人。学校拥有6所直属附属医院、5所临床医学院、非直属附属医院15所，临床教学医院22所，专业实践教学基地93个。与海内外120多所高校和科研院校开展了多层次、多角度的交流合作。

FJMU consists of two main campuses, occupying an area of1,500 acres. It has 21 colleges/divisions and offers 27 different undergraduatemajors. There are over 11,900 faculty members and medical staff（includingaffiliated hospitals），and more than 16,000 full-timestudents in the University. FJMU has 6 affiliated hospitals, 5 clinical medicalschools, 15 non-administratively affiliated hospitals, 22 clinical teachinghospitals and 93 professional practice teaching bases. It cooperates with morethan 120 national or overseas universities and research institutions atmulti-disciplinary and multi-dimensional levels.

学校着力打造具有影响力的高水平学科和科研平台。现有临床医学、基础医学、口腔医学、公共卫生与预防医学、药学、护理学等博士学位授权一级学科6个，临床医学、口腔医学等博士专业学位授权点2个；硕士学位授权一级学科8个，硕士专业学位授权点6个。现有临床医学和基础医学2个博士后科研流动站，4个博士后工作站，3个院士工作站。医学类博士点总数位居全国独立设置医学院校（含军队医学院校）第8名。临床医学学科进入ESI全球排名前3‰。

FJMU is committed to building influential and high-leveldiscipline and research platforms. There are 6 first-class anddoctorate-conferring disciplines that include Clinical Medicine, BasicMedicine, Dental Sciences, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy, andNursing; 2 specialty doctoral degree programs in Clinical Medicine and DentalSciences respectively; 8 first-class and master degree-conferring disciplines;6 specialty master degree programs. There are also 2 postdoctoral trainingprograms in Clinical and Basic medicine, 4 post-doctoral work stations, and 3academician work stations. The total number of medical doctorate programs inFJMU ranks 8th among the nation’s independent medical schools（includingmilitary medical colleges）. Clinical Medicine program in FJMU has been rankedtop 0.3% by Essential Science Indicators（ESI）.
