In this rare online event, legendary performance artist Tehching Hsieh （謝德慶）will appear in dialogue with Professor Michael Berry, Director of the UCLA Center for Chinese Studies, to speak about his iconic creative works. They will discuss his One Year Performance works from the late 1970s to the mid 1980s, the impact of performance art, and what it means to test the limits of artistic expression and the human body.

Tehching Hsieh was born in 1950 in Nan-Chou, Taiwan. His recent exhibitions Doing Time was presented by Taiwan Pavilion at 57th Venice Art Biennale 2017, One Year Performance 1980-1981 was exhibited at Tate Modern, London, in 2017-2018, and MoMa and the Guggenheim Museum, New York, in 2009.
