Dear Colleague: We are pleased to announce the 2024–2025 applications for the following AMS research fellowships are now open. We hope you will share this information with your faculty. The Joan and Joseph Birman Fellowship for Women Scholars provides exceptionally talented women extra research support during their mid-career years. The Centennial Fellowship provides an outstanding mathematician with support to further their career in research. The Claytor-Gilmer Fellowship furthers excellence in mathematics research and helps generate wider and sustained participation by Black mathematicians. These fellowships may be used to provide the awardee with additional time for research or to facilitate work with collaborators. Activities may include, but are not limited to, course buyouts, travel funding, childcare support, and funding to attend special research programs. Note that no overhead costs will be covered by these fellowships. For the 2024–2025 academic year, one award will be made for each fellowship in the amount of US$50,000. The deadline for submitting applications for these fellowships is November 8, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Awards are expected to be announced in early 2024.
