洛杉矶西来大学（UWest）秉持人间佛教理念，并延续佛光山开山宗长星云大师的精神遗产，谨此正式宣布开设全球首创之「东方哲学与管理博士学位课程」。此博士学位课程 秋季开学典礼,将于2025年10月3日下午4时30分假本校Ken Locke Hall隆重举行。

本博士课程为全球唯一，旨在深入探讨东方哲学思想如何影响创业精神、领导模式及商业伦理。课程设计以人间佛教为核心，回应当前世界所面临之重大挑战，包括经济动荡、社会冲突、生态危机及人工智能技术的迅速发展。

本课程将汇聚亚洲及亚裔美国商界领袖与学术专家，共同探讨星云大师精神与东方哲学千年传统如何启发现代企业实践。课程内容涵盖冲突解决、社会责任与永续发展等议题，并以慈悲、和谐与负责任的领导原则为指导方针。

University of the West Launches Groundbreaking
Doctoral Program in Eastern Philosophy and Management

Inspired by the teachings of Humanistic Buddhism and the enduring legacy of the late Venerable Master Hsing Yun of the Fo Guang Shan order, University of the West（UWest） is proud to announce the launch of a groundbreaking doctoral program in Eastern Philosophy and Management.

To mark this historic occasion, a special opening ceremony will be held on October 3rd at 4:30PM at Ken Locke Hall, located on the UWest campus in Rosemead, Los Angeles County.

This will be the only program of its kind in the world, offering a profound exploration of how the wisdom of great Eastern philosophers has shaped perspectives on entrepreneurship, leadership, and business ethics. The program is designed to address urgent global challenges—including economic instability, social conflict, ecological degradation, and the emergence of AI technologies—through the lens of Eastern philosophical thought, particularly Humanistic Buddhism.

By bringing together Asian and Asian American business leaders and scholars inspired by Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s legacy and the millennia-old traditions of Eastern philosophy, this doctoral program will foster meaningful dialogue on how ancient values can inform modern business practices. Participants will share insights on conflict resolution, social responsibility, and sustainable development, guided by principles of compassion, harmony, and socially responsible leadership.

This is a three-year doctoral program, taught in Chinese, and led by world-renowned scholars with expertise in Eastern philosophy and Humanistic Buddhist thought.
