Director, Product & Technology Planning

Location：Shenzhen or Xi’an, PRC

This leadership role will be responsible for leading the product and technology roadmap planning for next generation TV and other multimedia products and ecosystem. The ideal candidate is an expert in business, marketing and technology strategy analysis with trackable successful records in the field. The candidate works closely with various vendors, business partners, manufacturing partner, and engineering teams in the whole lifecycle of a product from the proposing, definition, proof-of-concept evaluation, to mass production. On the other hand, the candidate works with potential technology partners to evaluate new technologies for fitness into our product line, and invent new concepts and ideas into the products. The candidate must have good communication skills and trained documentation capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to drive company technology roadmap
• Lead the analysis and discovery of new market gap and business opportunity
• Own marketing or product requirement documents（MRD/PRD）
• Plan the next generation product features, requirements and capability
• Drive product development through the lifecycle
• Advise senior management on market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback

Qualification:

• Strong background in business and market analysis and technology roadmap planning
• Strong background in TV, digital home and relevant consumer electronics
• Understand display technology and signal processing/transmission
• Understand web-based technology and cloud computing
• Sensitive to new technology ideas
• Enthusiastic and engaging team player and professional/polished communicator

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering major preferred
• MBA or equivalent business study experience is a plus
• Experiences in technology roadmap development
• 5+ years product management experiences in TV, digital home and related products
• 5+ years experiences in business engagement with vendors and potential customers
• Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills
• Bilingual（English and Chinese）capability is preferred

Chief Software Architect

Location：Shenzhen or Xi’an, PRC

This chief leadership role will be responsible for leading the software architecture design of our future TV products and ecosystem. The ideal candidate is an expert in architecting Android OS based, connected consumer electronics products with trackable successful records in software architecture design. The chief works closely with various vendors, development partners, and the manufacturing partner to facilitate timely, reliable, cost-optimized, feature complete high-level system design. The chief applies a diverse software engineering and systems architecture background to work closely with the engineering team leaders and product/program managers to architect, evaluate, coordinate, and directly contribute to TCL’s advanced products. On the other hand, the chief works with potential technology partners to evaluate new technologies for fitness into our product line, and invent new concepts and ideas into the products. The chief must have good communication skills and trained documentation capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Own the design, documentation and communication of high-level system/software design architecture
• Work closely with the engineering directors and product/program managers to conceptualize new products in the roadmap
• Work closely with vendors, partners and design services firms
• Coordinate and/or directly contribute to implementation and optimization process of the product
• Perform detailed technical analyses and trend/challenge studies for the senior management team
• Constantly research the technical alternatives and develop strategies to succeed
• Constantly evaluate new technologies, ideas, concepts, and designs
• Constantly optimize TV user experiences and seek for the best visual and interaction design practices for future TV products

Qualification:

• Strong background in leading/architecting Android OS based product design
• Strong background in TV and relevant consumer electronics
• Very familiar with Google TV and other smart TV systems
• Familiar with web-based technology and cloud computing
• Technical expert in software/firmware and systems architecture
• Sensitive to new technology ideas
• Enthusiastic and engaging team player and professional/polished communicator

Requirements:

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering major preferred
• 2+ years software system architecting experiences on Android OS with deep understanding of Android platform
• 3+ years software system experiences in TV and related product
• 6+ years software architect or team management experiences in embedded system or web-based application system engineering projects
• Experiences in client-server system architecture and familiar with cloud computing
• Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills
• Bilingual（English and Chinese）capability is preferred
