项目背景
从2009年起，我们通过与中国团中央青少年部，四川省教育局，侨联等多个机构合作，成功组织了三期到中国去的暑假志愿者社会实践项目活动。从关爱四川地震灾区，到中国弱势社会群体的孩子，这些活动大大开拓了学生的国际视野，锻炼了他们服务社会的技能，提高了他们的中文能力，丰富了他们社会知识与人文知识，加强了他们走入社会的目的性与适应力。因而我们将这个暑假项目固定下来，纳入“正大中文”的高中社会实践与领导力项目，是中文AP学生的最佳实践课程。

项目简介
都江堰支教特殊教育项目
都江堰是2008年汶川地震的重灾区，从2008年以后，这里成了世界志愿者汇集的中心，因而坐落在都江堰的光亚学校成了四川落后地区英语教师的培训基地。“正大中文”与都江堰光亚学校合作，将在2012年暑假，让美国高中生培训四川农村地区的英语教师，提高农村英语老师的眼界与能力，同时真正锻炼美国孩子的英语中文表达能力，组织能力，是中文社会实践的绝佳途径。同时，项目将看望与陪伴都江堰的留守儿童，帮助中国农村儿童拓展眼见，感受社会的关爱。除了在都江堰支教，学生还要到成都自闭症培训中心当志愿者，一方面照顾陪伴自闭症儿童，一方面熟悉了解自闭症的病因，病理，学习自闭症的培训教育方法。自闭症人群在中国是较新的一种特殊人群，对这批人群的教育，治疗，培训都是中国的空白领域。我们希望通过这个项目将美国一些先进的知识，技术，人文关爱等精神引入中国。在志愿者活动之外，我们还安排了与中国学生的交流互动，参观中国著名的熊猫基地与四川典型的人文景观，丰富学生的文化知识。
项目特点

- 零距离接触中国国宝大熊猫，到大熊猫基地实习。
- 参观世界最古老的水利工程“都江堰”，巴蜀文化的精髓名胜；
- 品尝地道麻辣诱惑：中国四大菜系之一的四川美食；
项目时间：6月17日～7月2日 （名额20）
报名要求
我们接受9年级毕业的高中以上的学生，愿意帮助他人，能按要求完成教学与交流工作，对中国文化有兴趣，身心健康，能适应不同的或艰苦的生活条件，能适应集体生活。

项目费用
报名费： $60（不退，回头学生免此费用）
项目费： $880 （我们给高年级高中生，担当小组长的学生奖学金或费用折扣）
费用包括活动的全部食宿费，交通费，活动费，礼品捐赠和保险费。
费用不包括：到目的地的机票费，到中国的签证费，以及中国的个人消费。

2012 ChinaWay Summer Volunteer Experience Program
Background
June 2009, Chinaway ICES has successfully worked with the Chinese Youth Center, the Sichuan Education Department, the Federation of Retired Chinese Oversea and other Chinese organizations to organize a volunteer program in China. These programs have included caring for those devastated by the earthquake, teaching children with special needs and introducing American Culture. The program inspires participating students to use his/her knowledge, skills, creativity and imagination to help Chinese communities and promote culture exchanges as well as foster hope and creativity around the globe. This program also gives students a chance to practice the Chinese language, create ties with China and help foster an ability to adapt to different life situations. For these reasons, we decided to organize a summer volunteer program to China as part of our Chinese education and Global leadership program in Royal Chinese Cultural Academy.
Program:
The 2012 China Summer Volunteer Program will go to Dujianyan, Sichuan, China to train countryside English teachers and help local under-privileged children. Because Dujiangyan is where the 2008 earthquake hit, it has become the center for volunteers in Sichuan and the Guangya School in Dujianyan has become a training base for English teachers in Sichuan. In 2012, the Royal Chinese will work with the Guangya School to develop English training programs. This program will teach local teachers English, focusing especially on the oral component of the language. Besides teaching English, the student will also care for Dujiangyan’s under-privileged children by playing with them and introducing American Culture. We will also go to the Chinese Autistic Center to be Volunteers. Autistic people are a new special group in China as they are not defined as handicapped, but they have special needs and need people to take care of them. Students will get training on autistic theories and visit normal Chinese schools and famous Sichuan places like the Dujiang dam and Panda Research Center.

Registration
Students will earn community service hours for participating, All high school students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 can participate. The students should be in good health, be willing to help others and be able to complete required jobs as demanded.
Program Time
First term：June 17 ～ July 2
The program fee includes all lodging, meals, local transportation and insurance and fees for the local school. The fee doesn’t include the visa to China, the air ticket to or from China or personal spending. We will arrange a group air ticket, please let us know if you will apply or not.
