Congresswoman Judy Chu说:留言于2012-03-22 10:08:54(第1条)
After months of calling for an official Congressional hearing on hazing, tomorrow, March 22, at 1pm ET/10am PT, the House Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing on hazing in the military. This is an important step towards holding the military accountable, and I will continue to push them to implement a zero-tolerance hazing policy. We need to ensure the memories and service of Private Danny Chen, my nephew Lance Corporal Harry Lew, and others were not in vain. It will be live streamed, so I hope you can take some time to watch the hearing: http://armedservices.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2

I can't tell you how thankful and appreciative I am for your advocacy and support during this long and painful journey. It's because of you that this hearing on Military Hazing has become a reality. And because of you, we have collected over 2,000 signatures in a short amount of time calling on Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to act to change military culture and stop hazing and harassment.

Hazing is a serious problem in the military, and though the military has policies in place, they aren't being enforced and they aren't effective. This hearing is indeed a positive step forward, but there is much more to do. I hope to continue to count on your advocacy on this issue. Together, we can make sure other military families don't ever have to suffer from such devastating losses.
In friendship,

Judy Chu
Member of Congress
