Peter Staecker, IEEE 2012 President Elect

Peter Staecker holds BS and EE degrees from MIT, and MS and PhD degrees from NYU Polytechnic. At MIT Lincoln Laboratory, he developed microwave design and test techniques for satellite communications applications. In 1986 he joined M/A-COM, where he led program, product and process development, then helped the company's transition from defense to commercial markets. He retired from M/A-COM as Director of Research & Development.  Staecker served industry and government on manufacturing and advisory panels, and is consulting editor to Microwave Journal.

Staecker is Past-President and Honorary Life Member of the MTT Society, and is an IEEE Life Fellow.  His service to IEEE includes leadership roles in Finance, Strategic Planning, Publications, and Membership. He has served on the IEEE Board of Directors for five years, and is 2012 IEEE President-Elect.

Christopher Lynch, Investor at Atlas Venture

Chris Lynch is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and respected mentor in the Boston IT community. Lynch is currently an investor at Atlas Venture, and also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hadapt, a Big Data Analytics company. He was most recently Senior Vice President & General Manager, Vertica Systems at Hewlett-Packard, after successfully expanding Vertica's business as its CEO, leading to the HP's acquisition of Vertica in 2011.

Prior to Vertica, Lynch was senior vice president of data solutions at F5 Networks, a company he joined from its acquisition of Acopia Networks, where he served as CEO for five years. Prior to Acopia, Lynch was vice president of sales and marketing at Cisco, a company he joined from its acquisition of ArrowPoint Communications, where he was vice president of worldwide sales, marketing and support.

He helped grow ArrowPoint's revenue from zero to a $250 million sales annualized run-rate over 18 months, and was instrumental in its IPO and subsequent acquisition by Cisco Systems for $5.7 billion in June 2000. Prior to ArrowPoint, Lynch held sales leadership positions at Lucent Technologies, Prominet Corporation, Bay Networks, Wellfleet Communications and Digital Equipment Corporation. He earned his MBA from Bentley University and his bachelor's degree in business management from Suffolk University.

NECINA Entrepreneur Club

NECINA Entrepreneur Club is a community of technology company founders and CEOs.  It is to leverage NECINA resources to connect the club members to more senior and successful entrepreneurs, VC and service firms as well as business counterparts in China, seeking mentors, advices and business opportunities. It also provides an environment for the entrepreneurs to do social and networking, to share their successful stories and lessons learned, to help each other. Currently there are about 30 members in the club.
