Nonverbals & Networking Workshop - How Body Language Can Make or Break You in Business & Networking Settings

Did you realize that over 1/2 of what you communicate to others is not through what you say but through your body language, and that your actions, such as crossing your arms or scratching an itch on your face, may give the person you're talking to the impression that you're not interested in hearing what they have to say or lacking confidence when in fact your meaning was something completely different?

The fact of the matter is that there are common interpretations for body language and that those interpretations may not be reflective of how the sender was actually feeling or what he or she was thinking. In a networking environment when you're trying to make a good first impression or reinforce a good impression, understanding how others might be interpreting your nonverbals is a must.

To that end, join APEX for a workshop on learning how to communicate what you really mean with your nonverbals as well as better understand and interpret other people's body language and improve your productivity in networking environments! Don't send signals that could be misinterpreted when meeting a potential employer or connector!

Privy Fall Soiree

APEX recently benefited from the third Privy Supper Club at Le Ka in conjuction with Chivas Regal to celebrate APEX Founder and Privy CEO, Stephen Liu's birthday. The invite only event featured a delectable meal prepared by Executive Chef of Le Ka, Remi Lauvand. Le Ka features a grand dining room and bar with 50 foot soaring ceilings and glass chandeliers, and a spacious outdoor patio with two fireplaces enclosed in "rustic metal" Asian-inspired fencing.

The hosted Chivas bar concocted four special drinks, perfect for the downtown LA setting. Post dinner, attendees were joined by other invited guests for the soiree portion of the evening featuring a live DJ.

APEX expresses a heartfelt thanks to Stephen Liu and Privy Causes for their support. For more information on Privy, visit:www.privy.net.

Operation:Guest Chef

After weeks of planning, a motivated group of APEX volunteers prepared and served 32 residents of the Friendship Shelter, a transitional home in Laguna Beach. The residents of the shelter enjoyed a delicious, multi-course, pan-Asian meal. The night was concluded with live music, made possible by one our own dedicated volunteers. Special thanks to Will T., Adeline C., Christine N., Stephanie T., Cindy G., Sandy G., Lynn P., and Michael C. for taking a leadership role and making the event exceptional.
