MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
FULL TIME, TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS
Communication Studies(closes March 2, 2013)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in drama/ theater arts, mass communication, or English OR The equivalent – Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above must explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; AND Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and of individuals with disabilities.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Recent community college teaching experience. Ability to address the needs of students from developmental through transfer levels, especially those who are under prepared. Experience in teaching courses such as public speaking; interpersonal, small group, and intercultural communication; and argumentation and debate. Experience developing and using innovative teaching strategies to meet student needs. Experience teaching and teaching/learning online. Expertise with current methodology in communication studies. Successful experience with different teaching/learning technologies. Effective oral and written communication skills

Familiarity with computer-assisted instruction is highly desired. Experience in curriculum development, including on-line curriculum.
Kinesiology/Baseball Coach(closes March 2, 2013)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education; OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy OR Valid California Community College Credential in appropriate subject. Knowledge of learning progressions for beginning to advanced levels in lab and lecture kinesiology courses. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and the community at large. Successful and recent coaching experience in intercollegiate baseball. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development. Mathematics(closes March 2, 2013)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics; OR Bachelor’s in either of the above AND Master’s in statistics, physics, or mathematics education; OR The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above must explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above and provide supporting documentation, AND Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Recent experience teaching mathematics at the community college level. At least three years experience teaching mathematics at any level. Effective oral and communication skills. Experience using technology to improve student learning, such as using course management systems, computer algebra systems, and graphic calculators. Experience using and developing a variety of teaching methodologies to engage students. Experience teaching basic skills math classes(Arithmetic through Elementary Algebra).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Nursing OR Bachelor’s in nursing AND Master’s in health education or health science OR The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above must explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above and provide supporting documentation AND Valid California Registered Nurse License or eligibility for California Licensure as a registered nurse, AND Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Recent teaching in a community college or clinical experience in an acute care facility demonstrating expertise in medical–surgical nursing. Recent experience in more than one nursing discipline area is highly desirable.

Counselor/Learning Disabilities Specialist-Disabled Students Program & Services(closes March 7, 2013)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree, or equivalent foreign degree in rehabilitation counseling; OR Master’s degree, or equivalent foreign degree, in special education, and twenty four or more semester unites in upper division or graduate level course work in counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, or social work; OR Master’s degree in counseling, guidance, student personnel psychology, career development, or social welfare; and either twelve or more semester unites in upper division or graduate level course work specifically in counseling or rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, or two years of full-time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following;(A)Counseling or guidance for students with disabilities; or(B)Counseling and/or guidance in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities; AND Fifteen semester units of upper division or graduate study in the area of disability, to include, but not limited to; learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, deaf and hearing impaired, physical disabilities, or adapted computer technology or the equivalent; AND Sensitivity to and understanding of the divers academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic, backgrounds of community college students and the community at-large.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Three years experience counseling students with disabilities in educational and career planning; certification in the California Community College Learning Disabilities Eligibility Model Training Program and Community College teaching experience.
