While the economic growth rate has remained impressive in China for more than 30 years and has made the country the second largest economy in the world, many new and urgent issues need to be resolved, such as environmental protection, adjustment of economic structure, innovation, low income, social security, credibility, monopoly, reform and opening up, anti-corruption and etc. One of the main points I want to make in this talk is that we are trying to find effective ways to resolve all the issues, instead of avoiding them. I will review the ongoing process of restructuring the Chinese economy, examine the recent developments in international cooperation and competition, and discuss the role of traditional Chinese culture in corporate management.
