|
Chinese Culture Land（CCL）summer camp, July 8 - July 17, 2013, is accepting applications for the positions of high school counselors. All bilingual enthusiastic and reliable high school juniors（going into senior year in fall of 2013）are encouraged to apply. Some sophomores with outstanding qualifications may qualify. All high school counselors must be capable to help translate Chinese to English to campers who do not understand Chinese fully. Please contact Annie Liu at awliu@noctrl.edu for any inquiries. CCL will take place at North Central College in Naperville.
Job Details
- Each counselor will be assigned to a class. Large classes will have 2 counselors. Counselors must accompany their students throughout the camp hours from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in and outside class. The afternoon classes will be run in WAC and Nichols Gym.
- Counselors are to help young students finding, using, and working on their projects, e.g., in using scissors, brush pens, etc., but not to do the projects for the students.
- Counselors are to help the teachers with classroom management and to remind students to behave properly and safely.
- During the class transitions, counselors need to assist teachers in moving necessary equipment, tools, and materials for class use.
- Counselors are to spend the lunch hour and all break with the students and keep students behaving properly and safely.
- Counselors are to work with parent supervisors in locating resources and assistance for unforeseeable events happened in class and out of class.
- Counselors are responsible to lead the students in returning the classrooms to their original shapes and conditions at the end of each day.
- Attend Parent Supervisor/Counselor Orientation on Friday July 5, 2013. Place and time to be arranged.
- All counselors are required to be on site at 8:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, to help prepare for the opening ceremony and to help students check in.
