首届全球华人科学家环境论坛（上海 5/5-7）

　　首届全球华人科学家环境论坛拟于2010年5月5-7日在上海举办，论坛的主题为“适应低碳社会的环境技术与经济发展模式”，围绕环境污染治理、改善生态环境、发展低碳经济以及应对气候变化等环境热点问题开展深入讨论。本届论坛将与“中国环境科学学会2010年学术年会”、“2010中国国际环保、废弃物及资源利用展览会”同期同地举行。（http://ep.chinahbk.com.cn/notice.html）

　　当前中国经济快速发展，环境污染、能源消耗均已进入高峰期，环境状况距离全面建设小康社会的要求有相当大的差距。环境与资源是影响中国今后经济可持续增长的关键因素。随着科技进步日新月异和经济全球化深入发展，建立一个长期吸引海外智力和人才交流合作的国际平台，达到利用全球科技资源应对我国日趋严峻的环境形势已成为中国发展的迫切要求。

　　中国环境科学学会与海外多家海外华人环境保护及科学组织联系，经多次磋商，拟设立一个由华人科学家为主体的高层次环境保护论坛，利用学术交流这一平台整合全球华人科学家的人力和智力资源，引进人才，加强国际合作，真正发挥海外华人科学家顾问参谋作用，为我国环境保护和经济发展献计献策，增强我国环境保护科技与管理的自主创新力，提高应对气候变化等问题的国际竞争力。论坛将每两年举行一次，期间将根据需要,不定期举办其它专题论坛、研讨会、培训等活动。论坛设中国秘书处和海外秘书处，中国秘书处设在学会，负责国内论坛筹备组织工作。

　　海外秘书处设在美国洛杉矶，主要负责海外论坛筹备组织工作目前参与论坛的海外社团组织和科学家：美国南加州华人环保协会（SCCAEPA）、海外华人环境保护学会（OCEESA）、中华海外生态学者协会（Sino-Eco）、国际电除尘协会（ISESP）、华美环境保护协会（CAEPA）、华人环境学者工程师协会（CESPN）、北美华人岩土工程师协会（NACGEA）、国际华人交通运输协会（ICTPA-SCC）、美西华人协会（CAPS）、美国南加州华裔教授学者协会（CSA）、中国学生学者环境与公共健康合作会（ENCSS）、中国旅美科技协会洛杉分会（CAST-LA）、交通大学南加卅校友会（CTUAA-SC）、中国科技大学南加州校友（USTCAA-SC）、英国蓝橡控股（Blue Oak Global Holdings）等。

我的固废处理原创技术 “HiRos System” (High-Rate Recovery of Solid-Wastes) 在英国环保会议参展时被英国环保专家推祟。他们最近主动要求将 “HiRos” 加入上海世博的英舘中。近日已赶工制模型并已派人在世博安装完毕。若您及朋友们去英国馆，尚请指教。

其实该HiRos System对中国最有用。也国内参了展。可惜一心想把此变为中国原创技术，反被国外捷足先登！

2010-5-5 China “12-5” Planning Meeting Listen and provide your input as a guest
consultant accordingly in six break-up sessions

2010-5-5 (Evening) Forum on Specific Topics (Panel Presentation/discussion)
Deliver or listen short panel presentation and participate in discussion in 4-5 sub groups.

2010-5-6 (Morning) CSES/Forum Conference Opening Session Attending

2010-5-6 (Afternoon) and 2010-5-7 (Whole Day) CESE/Forum Break-up Sessions
Your paper presentation (15 minutes!)

2010 5-6 (evening)
The Forum ‘Forming’ Ceremony Event
Attending; Founding Org rep may be called to speak a few words

Shanghai Expo Tour

Notice that all of you as the Forum speaker will attend at least four different events plus Shanghai Expo Tour. Your paper presentation will be limited to 15 MINUTES only due to number of speakers.

Please send you Form 1 ASAP if you have not done so to book your hotel.
Your Form 2 with 500 words suggestion is due 4/20.
You do not need Hotel confirmation number, just show up with your Passport/ID when you check in and everything should be OK. Hotel website: http://yalonginterhotel.chinahotel.com.cn/

The final program schedule will be out soon, if you need to leave early, please check your e-mail regularly for the upcoming updates. Also you can check CSES and/or Forum website for any notices. http://ep.65ce.com/

Dear All,

Updated attendee list collected from all 15 oversea Forum Founding Organizations with titles of presentations. As you can see, we still need your support to verify the list and make sure we will not miss any one of your members.

Updated collection of paper titles submitted via Forum Web in China Documents regarding China 12-5 Plan Special Meeting/Forum which we will try to consolidate with our Forum.

Paper Format guideline (Chinese or English).

In order to include your paper in the Forum Proceedings, you have to submit it by Mar 31. If you do not have a full paper ready by then, please try to submit expanded abstract to summarize your main results and points ASAP.

We are to review the paper topics and discuss and coordinate program layout and sessions with China organizers and keep you posted of progress.

Hi All,

As you may know, the deadline to submit your abstract has been extended to march 31, 2010. Please encourage your members trying to join the forum. Most of our oversea founding organizations will have their president or representatives in attending. However, we are still waiting for some of you to make your arrangement. As you know, this is the first Forum; we do not want to miss any one of founding members. Please try hard to make it to make the event successful.

So far, we have 22 from SCCAEPA, >10 from OCEESA,….
