Goettsch Partners to design five towers in booming Shenzhen’s Qianhai district
Chicago’s Goettsch Partners will design five towers for Shenzhen, China’s Qianhai district, which Chinese authorities say will one day be the “Manhattan of the Pearl River Delta.”(Goesttch Partners)
Goettsch Partners landed its largest project in China, a cluster of five towers on 15 acres in Shenzhen’s Qianhai district. China Resources Land Limited(CR Land)hired the Chicago-based Goettsch to design 5.4 million square feet of space for offices, apartments, a five-star hotel, and retail. U.K.–based Benoy is the masterplanner, and is designing a shopping mall and retail areas at the towers’ base.

SPARK plans prince's building for shenzhen skyline
In the sprawling chinese city of shenzhen, SPARK architects has designed ‘prince’s building’, a mixed-use development forchina merchants. the 27 storey tower, which rises to a total height of 110 meters, is accompanied by five retail pavilions, connected through landscaped terraces. the cluster of buildings is positioned next to a new transportation hub that includes a bus terminal and subway station.
the 71,600 square meter scheme is located at the southern tip of shenzhen on the nantou peninsula, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. consequently the design responds to the surrounding landscape with its own distinctive urban-garden. envisioned as a series of hillscapes, the development is composed of office and retail areas, with SPARK also responsible for the project’s interiors and landscaping.

Intertextile Shenzhen attracts record number of buyers, exhibitors
The Intertextile fair in southern China’s town of Shenzhen - officially the Intertextile Pavilion at the Shenzhen International Trade Fair for Apparel Fabrics and Accessories – took place from 10th to 12th July 2014 and managed to attract a record number of buyers and exhibitors this year:Over 17,500 buyers from 27 countries and regions attended the fair – a 34 percent increase from 2013 – and almost 700 exhibitors from eight countries and regions, an increase of 12.7 percent, easily filling the 30,000 square meters allocated for the fair at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center; 33 percent more exhibition space than in 2013.
Taking advantage of the proximity to hubs like Hong Kong and Guangzhou, a number of leading international companies like Brooks Brothers, Diesel, Esprit, G2000, Givenchy, LF Sourcing, Liebeskind, Pepe Jeans, Replay and Silvereed attended the fair and looked for fabrics and accessories.
