5 China Tech Stories to Watch in 2015
On several fronts, 2014 was a particularly eventful year for China’s technology sector. While a handful of domestic players grabbed headlines with blockbuster share offerings, major acquisitions or soaring valuations, some multinational firms encountered major obstacles in their efforts to expand in the vast but increasingly challenging market.

NAROS Organized the Shenzhen-San Francisco International Exchanges on Open Innovation
North American Representative Office of Shenzhen supported and organized the “Shenzhen-San Francisco International Exchanges on Open Innovation” in San Francisco sponsored by, the Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, as well as the Shenzhen Municipal Industry Association of Industrial Design. Attendees including Shenzhen Deputy Mayor Mr. Chen Biao, Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco Mr. Song, Ruan, Director of San Francisco Mayor’s office of Economy Development, the United States Institute for the Future, Shenzhen Flat panel display industry Associations. More than 300 international innovators participate this exciting event, which is considers as a milestone, the two city officials meet up, exchange ideas and share experiences.
While the CES International Consumer Electronics Show held on the occasion, this event is aimed at creating a comprehensive innovative atmosphere to promote Shenzhen, boost a firm foothold in the international arena.
A comprehensive MOU was signed during the event between Shenzhen Industrial Design Association and the American Institute for the Future to build an open innovation laboratory in Shenzhen together.

North American Representative Office of Shenzhen attended Los Angeles “Discover Nevada- Shenzhen Bilateral Business Opportunity” event, held at Howard Hughes Parkway business district, Las Vegas on January 6th, 2015. This event is co-organized by the Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Nevada State Economic Development Bureau, Cornell and Weimar LLP as well East West Bank. In the occasion of Las Vegas CES Show, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen Mr. Chen Biao discussed the importance of interconnected global industry clusters – such as those located in the Nevada and Shenzhen– and how to leverage them for economic growth and prosperity. And he addressed that there is a lot of room for business cooperation between Nevada and Shenzhen.

ZTE Receives Four IDG Awards at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show

China's Huawei exhibits over 100 products at 2015 International CES

How China’s New Foreign Investment Rules Might Play Out
China’s Ministry of Commerce this week unveiled a draft legislation that could change how the government is regulating a corporate structure that has allowed companies in sensitive industries like the Internet, telecommunications and education to court foreign shareholders. Under the draft, it could bring changes to the way the government regulates foreign investments especially as it pertains to variable interest entity structures, widely used by some of China’s Internet giants.

Shenzhen Open to Kick off on Saturday
The start of the new WTA season, the Shenzhen Open, will get underway this Saturday at the Shenzhen Longgang Sports Center.
Worldwide tennis masters such as world number three Simona Halep, Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, and Chinese ace Peng Shuai will participate in the 7-day tournament.
