十二个国家的部长于10月5日完成了针对于跨太平洋伙伴关系协议( TPP )的谈判。该谈判具有里程碑意义,为签订区域性自由贸易协定奠定了良好的基础。跨太平洋伙伴关系协议具有更高的标准,其包含领域亦要远超于世界贸易组织( WTO)。TPP的目的是什么?TPP与WTO的主要区别是什么?TPP将如何影响美国和其他成员的经济?又将如何影响非TPP成员的国家,如中国?在这个专题的研讨会上,陈岳云教授将深入探讨这些问题,并回答听众的疑问。
陈岳云博士自1996年起在西来大学任教,现为工商管理系终身教授。陈教授曾于1997年至2012年任工商管理系主任,并从2012年至2015年6月任大学首席财务长(CFO)。
陈岳云教授获得加州大学圣塔巴巴拉分校经济学博士,专业为金融/保险;并获得中国天津大学管理/市场专业硕士学位, 及中国浙江(杭州)大学数学/统计专业学士学位。陈岳云教授一直专注于金融,保险和经济学的研究。他曾在这些领域的学术期刊上发表多篇论文,并在美国及国际会议上发表了他的研究成果。他亦撰写发表许多篇关于中国财经的文章,并多次接受电视专访,探讨美国与中国经济。

On October 5, ministers of 12 countries completed negotiations on the landmark trade agreement of the Trans-Pacific Partnership(TPP). This is a significant step towards signing this regional free trade agreement. The TPP sets up much higher standards and covers more areas than the World Trade Organization(WTO). What are the purposes of the TPP? What are main differences of the TPP from the WTO? How will the TPP affect the US and other members’ economies and how will that affect non TPP members’ countries like China? In this special seminar, Professor Bill Chen will explore these issues and answer questions.
Dr. Bill Chen has been working at UWest since 1996. He is a tenured full professor in the Department of Business Administration. He was the Chair of the Department from 1997-2012 and the CFO of the University from 2012-June, 2015.
Dr. Chen received his Ph. D. in Economics with specialization in Finance/ Insurance from the University of California, Santa Barbara, his Master’s degree with specialization in Management/Marketing from Tianjin University, China, and a B.S. in Mathematics/Statistics from Zhejiang(Hongzhou)University, China. Dr. Chen has focused his research on Finance, Insurance, and Economics. He has published papers in these fields in academic journals and presented his research findings in national and international conferences. He has also written many articles on China’s economy and had many TV interviews on the US and China’s economies.
