一、论坛简介

华中科技大学于2012年创办了“国际青年学者东湖论坛”（以下简称“东湖论坛”），至今已成功举办四届，共邀请到来自30多个国家和地区的600余名优秀青年学者来校参会。

“东湖论坛”旨在为海内外不同学科领域的青年才俊搭建一个学术交流平台。通过专题报告、学术研讨和人才洽谈等形式，共同探讨国际科技前沿话题，追踪学术热点问题，开拓学术视野，启迪学术灵感，促进交流合作，引进各学科海内外优秀青年人才。

二、学科领域

此次“东湖论坛”共设数学、物理、化学、环境与地球科学、信息科学、工程科学、材料科学、生命科学、医学以及人文社会科学等10个学科领域的分论坛，诚邀海内外优秀青年学者报名参会。

三、申请条件

年龄在40岁以下；具有海外知名大学博士学位；或者具有国内知名大学博士学位，并有连续3年以上在海外知名高校、科研机构、知名企业研发机构等从事科研工作的经历；在自然科学与工程技术、经济管理与人文社科等领域取得一定成绩或具有良好发展潜力的优秀青年人才。

四、申请流程

（一）报名：符合条件的海内外青年学者于11月25日前，使用网上报名系统进行注册并填写相关信息，网址：www.eastlakeforum-hust.org。

（二）邀请：受邀学者将于12月5日前收到主办单位的邀请函，请及时查收报名系统登记的邮箱。

（三）回执：受邀者须于收到邀请函一周内填写回执并确认是否参会。

五、日程安排

12月25日全天报到；

12月26日上午论坛开幕式和大会报告。下午各分论坛报告；

12月27日各分论坛报告，各院系安排在院系的活动；

12月28日参会青年学者离会。

六、差旅及住宿

主办单位为每位受邀参会学者提供往返差旅经费一万元人民币（实报实销），论坛期间食宿由主办单位统一安排。

The 5^thEast Lake International Forum

for Outstanding Overseas Young Scholars

I. About the Forum

The East Lake International Forum for Outstanding Overseas Young Scholars（East Lake Forum） was founded in 2012 and has invited more than 600 scholars from over 30 countries and regions in the past continuousfour years.

The Forum aims at setting up an academic exchange platformfor young scholars of different fields and fostering cross-disciplinary exchange and cooperation.Throughthemed reports, academic discussions and talents fairs, the young scholars will discuss about scientific and technological frontier topics, follow up theacademic hotspots, and broaden their academic visions, and get the academic inspirations enlightened. Meanwhile, the university can bring in talents from home and abroad.

II. Disciplines and Fields

The forum covers a wide range of disciplines, including mathematics, physics,chemistry, environmental and earth science, information science, engineering science, material science, bioscience, medicine, humanities and social sciences.

III. Requirements for applicants

The eligible applicants must:

● Be under 40 years old;

● have obtained their doctoral degree from world renowned universities abroad, or from a Chinese university with at least 3-year overseas working experience（in world renowned universities, scientific research organizations, or R&D departments in renowned enterprises）;

● Have shown outstanding academic records or innovation potentials in their areas of focus（natural science, engineering, economical management, humanities, social sciences, and etc.）

IV. Deadline for application

1.Registration：please submit theapplication form via the website（www.eastlakeforum-hust.org）beforeNovember 25, 2016.

2.Invitation：we will send the invitation letters to the qualified applicants via email beforeDecember 05, 2016.

3.Acknowledgement of receipt：qualified applicants should fill in the reply form in a week after receiving the invitation letters to confirm attendance.

VI.Travel Reimbursement and Accommodation

Participants can enjoy travel reimbursement（￥10,000 top）, freeentertainment and accommodation arrangement during the forum.
