Ⅱ. Requirements
i All applicants must abide by the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China and its laws, and demonstrate moral integrity, a rigorous commitment to research, and provide prove of physical and mental fitness.
ii All applicants should have earned a doctoral degree.
1 Requirements for overseas applicants
i All applicants who are introduced to Jiangsu colleges and universities after January 1, 2017 shall possess over 3 year of experience in overseas research. The overseas applicants who are introduced to Jiangsu colleges and universities from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016 shall possess over 2 year of experience in overseas research. The overseas applicants shall obtain the position of assistant professor or above or other appropriate ones in overseas high-level university, scientific research institutes, or international well-known large enterprises.
ii All applicants must have assembled a substantial performance track record, either by having led a significant research project and having published a series of influential papers in acknowledged academic journal/s or periodical/s, or by having mastered core expertise and owning invention patent/s, or by having made significant accomplishments in the conversion of scientific research results into technological innovations reaching an advanced international standard with extensive influence in their relevant academic fields. Their scientific research results must not be involved in disputed cases over intellectual property rights.
2 Requirements for domestic applicants
All applicants should have earned a senior professional title, All applicants must have led a significant state-level research project, and the research achievement must be at least equal to leading standards in China or advanced standards in the world and be acknowledged by experts of the same trade and occupation both at home and abroad, and scientific research results must not be involved in disputed cases over intellectual property rights; or all applicants must have attained outstanding achievements in personnel training, education and teaching. And all applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:
1）Having earned a National Natural ScienceAward, State Technological Invention Award or at least second prize for National Science and Technology Progress Award and being in the top three if there were multiple recipients.
2）Having been supported by the National Science Found for Distinguished Young Scholars of China.
3）Having earned First prize and above award of the outstanding achievement award（humanities and social sciences）of the higher school of the ministry of education, and ranked the top two in the main achievement of the achievement.
4）Having earned First Prize for the State-level Teaching Achievement Prize of Higher Education and being in the top two if there were multiple recipients or having been titled State-level Outstanding Teacher,And in the results of the main achievement of the top three;
5）Having earned a national "10000 people plan" teaching teacher award prize.
3 Others
Applicants who have been selected in any of the following projects will not be considered：The “Overseas High-level Talents Employment Project” by Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee; the “Yangtze River Scholar Award Project” by the national Ministry of Education; the “Provincial High-level Innovative Entrepreneurship Talents Employment Project”（double creative individuals and team leaders）and the "333 high-level personnel training project" a level of personnel by Jiangsu Province.
III Responsibilities
i To direct the program in their specific field to achieve the highest national standards while catching up with and potentially overtaking those at the most advanced levels internationally;
ii To take charge of significant national and provincial projects, while striving to achieve significant epoch-making results;
iii To lead, or participate in, the development of an effective administration team and/or teaching faculty;
iv To teach core courses in their relative subjects and to conduct academic exchanges both internationally and domestically.
Ⅳ Duration of Employment
The duration of employment is three（3）years. Professors will be employed as full-time faculty on a contractual basis.Professors holding Chinese nationality will be employed as regular full-time employees.
V Recruiting Procedure
i. Announcement：This includes information of the hiring institutions and their programs, requirements, duties, duration and procedures.
ii Application：Applications may be submitted via fax, email, letter or in person prior to March 1, 2018 – all applications must be in written form and accompanied by appropriate supporting documentation at www.ec.js.edu.cn
iii Appraisal by the University：The recruiting university has set up an appraisal committee comprised of distinguished experts and peer specialists to conduct evaluations of the applicants in accordance with their specific requirements and to select the most suitable applicants to be recommended to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.
iv Appraisal by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education：the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education has set up an appraisal committee to further evaluate the applicants selected by the universities and to report their recommendations to theJiangsu Specially-Appointed Professors selection of work instruction coordination group for approval.
v Formal employment：The university will sign an employment contract with the specially-appointed professors.
Ⅵ Salary and Benefits
ⅰ For the 3-year employment period, the Jiangsu Provincial Government will provide 2,000,000 RMB Yuan for each Natural Science professor recruited by universities affiliated to Jiangsu Province, and 1,000,000 RMB Yuan for each Humanities and/or Social Science professor recruited by universities affiliated to Jiangsu Province as research funding, and a bonus of 120,000 RMB Yuan（exempt from individual income tax，the same below）for each professor every year.
ⅱ To provide 4,000,000 RMB Yuan for each Natural Science professor as research funding, and a bonus of 120,000 RMB Yuan for each professor every year.
ⅲ For the 3-year employment period, each university will provide salary, insurance and benefits for its specially-appointed professors according to relevant state regulations.
iv Each university will provide the professor with working and living conditions commensurate to the position and properly manage all issues relating to residence, the provision of the relevant visa, residence, relocation assistance and schooling for any accompanying children, etc.
