The meta-analysis compares research methodologies applied and topic areas investigated, and identifies the emerging research trends. Then, a research framework of Big Data is proposed to synthesize and aid in theoretical perspectives and empirical studies of the Big Data research in the IS field. Presented by Dr. Lina Guo

Associate Professor of Beijing Normal University

Time:11-12.30 PM, May 16th, Thursday

Location:Bookstein Hall 3107, Dean’s Conference Room,

Abstract:Science and technological advancements have been the largest drivers of economic growth in the last several decades both in China and in the United States of America, and as a result science and technology policy is an important issue for both countries. In the past three years, China's scientific research fund management has undergone in-depth reforms aiming to optimize scientific research management procedures and improve research performance. In 2017, American Innovation and Competitiveness Act was enacted by US federal government to reduce administrative burdens on research by federally funded researchers and to protect the public interest. China and the United States have almost the same goals in this field, but because of their different contexts and foundations, there are many differences in policy making. From the perspectives of grant application, procedure management, risk and performance management, and database construction, we will analyze the differences between the two countries and draw some policy implications.

This event is sponsored by CSUN China Institute, the College of Humanities, and the Center for China Finance and Business Research at the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.
