With collaboration with four APRU universities(University of California Los Angeles, University of Sydney, National University of Singapore, and Peking University), this Inaugural APRU Crisis Management Webinar, led by UCLA Fielding School of Public Health will focus on the Perspectives of Covid-19 Pandemic:Epidemiology, Prevention and Control in Pacific Rim Region.
China, Singapore, Australia and California in the United States have different patterns of Covid-19 in incidence and mortality. The observed mortality rates of Covid-19 are much lower in Asian countries of the pacific rim(3/Million in China and 5/M in Singapore, respectively)than in California and United States(349/M in California and 585/M in the US), while the Covid-19 tests per million are at similar levels.
This webinar will compare and contrast the epidemiological patterns and intervention strategies(risk communication, face masking, social distance, personal hygiene, stay home order, tracing and isolation, etc)among 4 countries in Pacific Rim Region, will summarize experience and lessons learned during the Covid-19 prevention and control, and will identify potential challenges, solutions, and opportunities for control of Covid-19 pandemic.
