Purchasing Manager

We have an opening for an experienced Purchasing Manager. This position will be responsible for the purchasing of multi product line motorcycle and ATV parts. This position will have manager responsibilities for the purchasing department to include subordinates.

- 3-5 years experience in managing a Purchasing department and purchasing personnel.
- Experience in a multi-product line, preferably automotive.
- Bilingual with the ability to read write and speak both Mandarin Chinese and English.
- Certification from the American Purchasing Society as a CPPM(Certified Professional Purchasing Manager).
- Ability to negotiate for the best service and price.
- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
- Experience with Forecast Pro.
- Use existing software to accomplish purchasing activities(currently Solomon)
- Ability to forecast supply demands accurately.
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
- Requests and negotiates quotes from vendors.

JOB STATEMENT
Under the direction and supervision of the President, this position performs a variety of purchasing management activities in support of the company mission statement. This position is responsible for analyzing market conditions as they pertain to purchasing so as to effectively source, quote and obtain needed materials and supplies. This position plans and directs activities for the purchasing agent. This position uses all available resources to including personnel to ensure all supplies and materials are readily available for operations. This position is responsible for forecasting and sourcing supplies, choosing the best quality, the most efficient and the most economical vendors. This position shall perform all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of C & L Companies, Inc.
CORE COMPETENCIES

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Issues and tracks P.O., ensuring they are signed and returned from vendor.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Negotiates with vendors for best quality and best price.
- Maintains Solomon software to accurately reflect forecasted products.
- Use inventory control procedures and lead physical inventory annually.
- Assists Warehouse Supervisor in organizing and maintaining all of our manufacturing work orders.
- Weekly meeting with President to discuss product status – 40 days to due date
- Works with the President, International Trade, and Taiwan office to ensure logistical support is maintained.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reduction of air shipments.
- Marks any air shipment quantities on our product status.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Operations to ensure accurate logistical support.
- Responsible for defective product return to vendors throughout supply chain management system.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to use various resources in choosing vendors and carriers
- Knowledge of Microsoft office software to include Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Solomon software
- Knowledge of Forecast Pro
