Pacific Asia Museum Announces Lunar New Year Free Family Festival

Pasadena, January 14, 2011 – Pacific Asia Museum will be holding a Lunar New Year Free Family Festival on Saturday, January 29^th from 11am to 5pm, celebrating Year of the Rabbit. Admission to the events, performances, crafts, demonstrations, and museum galleries is free to the public. There will also be food and cultural product vendors on-site. This public event is made possible by the generosity of Wells Fargo.

Pacific Asia Museum is commencing its 40^th Anniversary year public programming with the Lunar New Year Free Family Festival! Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Wells Fargo, this event will be a FREE, fun-filled day for the entire community. Held throughout the Museum including a fully tented parking lot, all the galleries will be open to enjoy along with crafts, demonstrations and hands-on activities, food and gift vendors, plus live music, dance, martial arts, acrobatics, magic and more! Come help welcome in the Year of the Rabbit. Free and fun for all ages!

Crafts activities include make-your-own calligraphy scroll, button making, Year of the Rabbit decoration activity, paper cutting, paper folding, face painting and Lunar New Year coloring activity. Demonstrations include Chinese flower arranging and Penjing（Chinese Bonsai）. Food Vendors will offer for sale Chinese cuisine, Japanese cuisine, Thai cuisine, and boba tea. Craft and Gift Vendors will offer for sale tea and tea accessories, Chinese clothing accessories and Lunar New Year décor items.
