Bios:
Bihua Chen - Founder of BC Capital LLC, and Venture Partner at Fidelity biosciences.
Bihua Chen bring 14 years of healthcare investment experience, public stock market perspective, and international background to her role as a Venture Partner at Fidelity Biosciences. Bihua founded BC Capital and successfully managed a multi-hundred million dollar healthcare long/short equity portfolio from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that, she was an analyst and portfolio manager at Putnam Investments, BB Biotech, Asterion LLC, and American Express Asset Management from 1998 and 2005. Her stock picking approach combines bottom up, detailed fundamental analysis of companies' products and technologies with financial forecasting and valuation. Her investment style is more akin to venture capital investment in companies than to short term trading of stocks. Bihua received her MBA from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and her M.S. from the Graduate School of Biomedical Science at Cornell Medical College. She received her B.S. in Genetics and Genetic Engineering from Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
H. George Dai, Ph.D. - Senior Managing Director and Deputy Chief Investment Officer. George is the Head of Alternative Investment and a portfolio manager at M.A. Weatherbie & Co, a firm which he joined in March 2001. Prior to that, he was an equity analyst with 1838 Investment Advisors. George received his MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania,(Director’s List), and his Ph.D. in chemistry from Johns Hopkins University. He earned a B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China(Hefei, China). He was a pharmaceutical research scientist at Proctor & Gamble. A prized Bridge player, George holds four US patents.
Jerry Y. Zhang, Ph.D., CFA - Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager. Jerry Zhang is a Managing Director and senior portfolio manager for the Berkeley Street Emerging Markets team with Wells Capital Management. He joined WellsCap from Evergreen Investments, where he served in a similar role since 2006 and as senior analyst from 2004. He began his investment industry career in 1999 as an analyst at Oppenheimer Asset Management. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Nankai University and a doctoral degree in economics from Vanderbilt University. Jerry has earned the right to use the CFA designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
Liz Su - Portfolio Manager. Liz Su is currently a Portfolio Manager on the Emerging Markets team at Batterymarch Financial Management. She focuses on Asian Markets
within Global Emerging Markets portfolios with an emphasis on China and South Korea. Liz holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, an MA from Tufts University and a BA from Wuhan University(China).
