Effective marketing is essential for companies’ survives and successes. Knowing consumers’ behavior, including their unique desires/preferences for the types of products/services and their purchase habits, is crucial for effective marketing. In addition, all companies should market/promote its products/services ethically so the companies can establish good reputations to the public and particularly to its customers and that will help the companies’ long and stable growth. In this seminar, Dr. Carla Walter will discuss relevant issues on consumer behavior and ethical marketing practices. Particularly she will use cases to explain these issues.
Dr. Walter did her Post-Doctoral study in Marketing at University of Arkansas. She has been a professor in marketing and management at Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, Missouri since 2003. Dr. Walter has published numerous articles in the fields on academic journals and received several research grants and awards. She has also been a consultant for businesses and governments. She was a business owner and executive of several corporations before she became a professor.
The seminar is organized by the Center for the Study of Minority and Small Business and the Department of Business Administration at UWest.
