Minimum Qualifications:

• An earned doctorate in the related fields with advanced study in arts.
• At least six years of experience following the completion of the Ph.D. in professional and/or scholarly activities.
• At least two years of higher education administrative experience including personnel supervision.

Preferred Qualifications：

• Professional credentials demonstrating the highest academic credentials of teaching, research or leadership qualities.
• A national / international reputation in arts education.
• Excellent teaching credentials at the university level.
• Experience in obtaining and managing extramural funded projects.
• Record of scholarship in arts education.
• Proof of leadership experience in effecting educational change in arts education.
• A commitment to curriculum reform that contributes to improved arts education at all levels.
• A commitment to developing international collaborations and exchanges.
• A commitment to leading the related discipline to do high-level researches or promote the overall capacity of research in the front fields.

General Information:

• Beijing International Studies University（BISU, the former Beijing Second Foreign Languages Institute）was founded in 1964, a nationwide renowned key school of higher education.
• BISU has developed into a multi-disciplinary educational establishment that offers courses in studies of foreign languages, tourism management, liberal arts, management, economics，law and philosophy.
• While the emphasis is on undergraduate education, BISU offers a wide range of graduate programs and research. BISU is eligible to offer post-graduate courses in foreign languages and related liberal arts, tourism management, corporate management, international trade, aesthetics, contrastive literature and world literature.
• The university also recruits overseas students, which amounts to around 600 on average each semester, for various levels of study, ranging from postgraduate, undergraduate to short-term language studies. Moreover, the university provides tertiary vocational education of English major, undergraduate courses of adult education, college education, international cooperation education programs, and so on. Currently the university has a total of more than 10,000 enrolled students.
• The faculty and staff are dedicated to each student’s success. All faculty members are expected to promote student learning.
• BISU has established international collaborative programs with more than 130 universities from U.S., UK, Japan, Korea, Australia, France, Canada, Germany, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Egypt, Syria, Malaysia, Hong Kong, etc.
• The developing target of BISU is “to become an international key university with distinguishing qualities and high estimations”, which attaches equal importance to teaching and research.

Salary:

• The salary range for each posted position is $63,000 to $80,000 for an academic year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Accommodation will be provided with a 180 m2 renting house.
