11am – 12:15pm: Registration

12:15-1:45pm: Chinese Legal Reform Keynote Lunch

Stanley Lubman is Lecturer in Residence at University of California - Berkeley School of Law and has specialized in China as a scholar and as a practicing lawyer for more than 40 years.

1:45-3:00pm: Civil Society Panel

Lu Jun is Chief Coordinator of the Beijing Yirenping Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting health-related discrimination in China, and is currently a visiting scholar at the Yale China Law Center.

Carl Minzner is Associate Professor of Law at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and has published articles on citizen petitioning institutions in China and reforms to the regulations governing Chinese civil society organizations.

Karla Simon is Professor of Law at the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University and Co-Director of the Center for International Social Development at Catholic University. She has published numerous articles on civil society law in China.

3:15-4:30pm: Commercial Arbitration Panel

Frances Kao is Partner at Skadden in Chicago and has a U.S. and international dispute resolution practice involving commercial litigation and arbitration in oil and gas, franchise and licensing law.

Adam Schorr serves as Adjunct Faculty at the UCLA School of Law and is a Partner at Margolis and Tisman in Los Angeles where he specializes in advising U.S. companies on doing business and investing in China.

Jingzhou Tao is Partner at Jones Day in Beijing and has more than 25 years of experience in advising Fortune 500 companies on China-related matters. His areas of practice include international mergers and acquisitions, arbitration, and corporate work.

Barbara Finamore is Senior Attorney and Director of the China Program for the Natural Resources Defense Council, and President of the China-U.S. Energy Efficiency Alliance.
