美国移民政策研究所（Migration Policy Institute）更新了美国华裔的报告【1】，系统报告了美国华裔及新移民的概况。

美国华裔人口

根据美国2021年的人口普查报告，在美国的华裔约有540万人；在美国所有居民按照祖籍国区分时，排名位居第九【2】。

按照美国人口的祖籍国排序，前十名依次为德国、墨西哥、英国、爱尔兰、意大利、波兰、法国、波多黎各、中国和印度。

由上图也可以看到，中国和印度也是在美国居民中、出生在祖籍国比例最高的两个国家。在美国的540万华裔当中，有238万出生在中国；这也意味着，他们是第一代移民，而且这个数字还在继续快速增长。

根据联合国人口司2020年的报告，中国向往移民达860万人，其中约240万（28%）移民美国；其他依次为加拿大（93万）、韩国（80万）、日本（77.6万）、澳大利亚（76万）和新加坡（51万）。

美国华裔居住地

截止到2021年，在美国的华裔中，居住在纽约、旧金山和洛杉矶大都市圈的居民最多，43%的华裔居住在这些地区。

As of 2017-21, the greater New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles metropolitan areas had the largest number of Chinese immigrants. These three metro areas were home to 43 percent of Chinese immigrants.

中国移民的教育情况

2021年，52%的25岁及以上中国移民至少拥有学士或以上学位，远高于整体移民的34%或美国出生成年人的35%。

且30%的中国移民拥有研究生或以上学位，而美国出生成年人仅为14%。

尽管中国移民52%的本科及以上学位远超美国平均水平，但是仍远低于印度80%的比例；即使与2017-2021年间中国移民中62%有本科及以上学位相比，2021年的新移民本科及以上比例也有降低。

中国移民的就业

在美国的中国移民最主要的就业是从事管理、商业、科学和艺术领域，占到了华裔所有就业的60%！远高于美国本土出生人口的43%。

这可以与华裔移民中留学生来源比例越来越高有关。

2021-2022学年，在美国的中国留学生有29.6万人，占到美国所有94.9万留学生的31%。

但很遗憾的是，中国留学生在美国获得工作签证（H1b）的比例却太低，仅占12%，而印度人占走了H1b签证的74%！非常期望在美国的中国公司更多雇佣想留在美国的中国留学生。

美国华裔的收入

2021年，美国华裔家庭年收入为7.8万美元，高于美国平均家庭年收入；但远低于印度人的家庭年收入。

需要注意的另外一个数据是：中国移民中可能陷入贫困的比例为15%，高于美国本土出生人群的13%。备注：美国的贫困线为：2个成年人+2个孩子的家庭，年收入低于27,480美元即为贫困家庭，可以申请很多福利和补贴。

新移民人数快速增长

2021年在美国的中国移民中，有35%是2010年及以后抵达美国的新移民。在美国的中国移民中，已有56%加入美国国籍。

2021财年，中国是美国第三大移民来源国，仅次于墨西哥和印度。

2021年美国共发出74万新的合法永久居民证（绿卡），其中5.1万（7%）给了中国人。

这5.1万绿卡中，44%是职业移民，远高于26%的全球移民平均值；只有33%是直系亲属移民，远低于52%的平均值，可能与中国内地家庭人口相对低有关。

向中国的汇款

文章说，2021年中国大陆、香港和澳门共收到了来自美国的正规汇款达535亿美元。

说实话，我被这个数字震惊住了，难以相信；因为我的印象一直是留学生给美国带来xxx资金。由美国向中国内地的汇款在2019年达到高峰，为688亿美元。
尽管原文说这是来自于世界银行的数据，但我对这组数据还是持保留态度。
